I'm relieved to see that Monroe is conceding that even as horrible as he thinks OUr program is, a Big 12 Kansas team is considered a patsy by Ohio standards. So, we got that going for us. By the way I got vilified a couple of years ago by an unnamed, self-appointed blowhard poster for pointing out that Kansas was never a football power. So much has changed!

Personally, I think this team, this year needs to win a division championship and earn a trip to Detroit with wins in head to head games (no backing in) to be successful. Doesn't mean 8-4 and a bowl game isn't a "good" season, it just means that it's time to win. I believe that anything less than that would and should be a disappointment to all involved. Not life threatening - just a disappointment.
Yes. As Toledo was last season. Same with Western and NIU. Disappointment is a part of competing. I wonder if Monroe and his golf. They must hit hole in ones every round. Any golfers out there? How many years since your last hole in one?
A hole-in-one I would classify as perfection.

I don't think anyone expects Ohio football to be perfect.

But going 8-5 with three ass-kickings isn't "good".....it's okay or decent in my view.

Bcat2.....please expound on your definition of a "good season"....or let me guess.....every season is a good season?

You can still suffer disappointment and have a good or great season.

In 2012, Ohio basketball made the Sweet 16 and lost a heartbreaker to UNC. That was disappointing to come THISclose and not finish it off. But it was a great season!

Ohio has had some good/great football seasons despite losing MACC.

But failing to make it there or even truly be in competition for a spot there the last few years isn't just disappointing....it's not good.

For me a "good season" is relative. I factor in expectations, talent levels and the like. As a result I thought 2015 was a "good season" in that they got out of it all that I really expected, especially when you factor in injuries. I wish they could have won the bowl, and finished on a positive note, but it didn't work out that way. The flip side is that I have higher expectations for 2016. If they only win 8, I will be disappointed, I'd consider 9 a "good" season, and 10 or more a "great" season.

NO. N. O.

In this staff's 12 year, not to MACC is pretty much not a good season.

If you don't think so, then you're clearly giving this staff a pass to never MACC.

Sorry. This is nothing personal against anyone on this staff. It's just reasonable expectations. One MACC in 12 years is basically just average.

Bcat2--Your deification and reverence and willingness to accept any level of performance, no matter how to the down side it may be, from this staff is truly impressive. Really strong to the thoughtlessness on your perspectivation.
