When I read all your postings about a Athens kid that looks to be doing great in Columbus and see all the whining and moaning it proves the point you folks are a bunch of tired, old clowns.

It's odd that it's The Post covering OSU if the angle is an Athens product getting an opportunity at QB. Would The Post do this if there wasn't a local angle? This seems like it's more Messenger territory.
This. +1000000

The Post is owned and run by students of Ohio University. That should be the news. Leave this stuff to Arkley and the Messenger. No slight on Burrow, I just don't think it has any place in The Post.

Here's a thought: how about covering the never-ending QB battle in the Ohio backfield?

There's enough going on in the world of Bobcat sports (current season baseball/softball, Football spring practice, basketball recruiting, etc) that Burrow news from O$U should be buried pretty deep on The Post's to do list.

When I worked for The Post, we did not cover high school sports in any capacity. There were always plenty of people interested in writing on the sports staff, but there was never enough room in a six-page paper, so we limited coverage to Ohio University sports. Even then, we sometimes posted things as online-only stories, but this was before people used the Internet as a major source of news, so we didn't like doing that.

However, now there is unlimited space because of the Internet. The Post has used this to its advantage to expand its coverage to high school sports. This matches what the news staff does. It covers local schools and governments, not just OU news.

I think it's a good idea. Ohio University has to be the focus of The Post, but many people who read it are interested in other things, including how a local kid is doing at another university. I despise Ohio State as much as anyone here, but if it were any other major school, people wouldn't consider this nearly as big of an issue. Newspapers are distributed all over the county, not only in university locations. If you're not interested in reading about Burrow, then skip to the next story. No offense to other sports, but I'm sure that story draws more interest and is read more than the stories on the golf or track team.

What I find intersting is that one of The Post's writers is a student in Athens High School.

Guess there aren't enough O.U. students interested in writing for The Post.
At least not for an online Post.

Hey. Wait a second.

Some of us are energetic young clowns.
