"Credentialed" by Ohio University - WTF does that mean? "Controlled" discussions/posts - censorship authority? Is BA "credentialed"?

I don't think this is a bad thing, I wouldn't mind another message board catching on. The more the merrier.

It just means they have access to media credentials for sporting events and receive press releases from the athletic department. BobcatAttack is credentialed.

The first to 6,000 posts on new message board? Monroe or OCF?

With stories like "Ohio continues tough scheduling", I'm not sure how this first impression is going for me. And then of course the 2nd to last paragraph refers to how OHIO is always on the cusp of 10-2 or 11-1. OK

Probably right, RSBobcat. But OCF's posts will at least have some content.

In fact, I noticed a new poster on here who's post count is single digits and I believe he has provided more content in those few posts than Monroe has in his 7K-plus posts.

I went to that site and that might be some of the worst writing ever. Check out the very first sentence.

It is with our great please

What say you OCF?

It looks to be run by "Blue Gold Sports LLC" which appears to be a West Virginia University fan site. So that explains the unfortunate prose!

I'm not impressed with their unprofessional approach. They created an account over here to post links to their site, which is fine. Then they lied and denied affiliation, and said they just "found" it. As if that aren't enough, they used the PM system to solicit people to the site.

Having stated on the wrong foot, I don't know that I'll be visiting the site.

I would take OCF. If discussions are "controlled", I would guess that would mean they won't allow posts that are off-topic and designed to discourage discussion.

This reminds me of being at a bar on Court Street. I'm just hanging out, the beer is cold, and there are people I know here. Why would I want to head over to another bar?

There is nothing wrong with having more Bobcat sites. In the long run more sites could mean more fans. I'd have liked to see them start off a little more professionally, though.

Attempts on and off through the years to get another site going have failed. BA has message boards, recruiting coverage and news articles across the MAC. Ohiobobcats.com runs feature stories on its athletes (16 sports), official stats and game previews. I'd think a niche that could be filled is a site devoted totally to the fan experience. Tailgating, hotel availability, road trips, info on pre game parties. Things fans care about but can't get info about easily.

You head over to another bar because your goal for the evening is to be as sloppy as possible.

I'll probably keep a (cat's) eye on this place just to see if it grows. Indeed, the more the merrier. And I hope they improve as time goes on.
