He still owes his alma mater $49,000 on a $100,000 scholarship pledge from ten years ago, despite making $1 million+ as NCAA president. Hasn't made a payment since taking the NCAA job in 2010: http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/eye-on-college...

I wonder how often that happens. Big commitment... big announcement... accolades... names on permanent signs... and crickets when checks come due.

Not much to be gained by calling them out and college athletics has a culture of insulating itself.

I would agree that philanthropy is a personal matter. Personal integrity, however, is not, when you are the face of an organization like the NC 2A.
