Pencil in Maxwell at that 2nd/3rd QB slot...Sprague and Windham will split time as Sprague is up and down and Windham was the most impressive off-season QB but now has added confidence and motivation. Expect Papi White to always be on the field somewhere if he is healthy.

I would be surprised if Krizancic is not in the battle for starting QB--based on past history. Has that ever been a transfer that Frank did not let compete immediately for starter? Bates, Bower, Scott and Jackson all got immediate shots. I can't imagine he would have come here if he was not offered that opportunity.

Compared to this year I see:
Offensive Line: Will improve as the year goes on, and end up better than 2015
Receivers: Everyone is back, and another year stronger, faster, and smarter
QB: about the same, but hopefully less injuries
RB: It only gets better
Offense summary: Will be the best offense under Solich, should average about 32 points a game, up from 27.5 this year

DL: Two DT losses, but young guys step up and replace them, slightly better
LB: Only one loss, so more depth
DB: Major losses (Bass, Wells, Layton, Terpin, Jones, Carpenter, Macer). Just like 2011, Ohio will have to depend on new faces.
Defensive summary: In 2011 the Leftwich twins, Fisher, Wells, Bass, Kristoff, and Ingol stepped into the rotation, and did fine. Will some new players step in and do well this fall? That's the mystery.

Overall Summary: The offense will be significantly better. The defense should be good, perhaps not quite as good, but much depends on what happens in the secondary. If solid new players step up, the defense will be solid, and it will be an outstanding team.

Sprague looks like our QB. If he can stay healthy, he should be the one. If not, we will have capable back-ups. We are also set at RB and WR, with good depth and experience. AJ is a beast, the NIU game showed his true grit.

Our LB corps will be depleted some from a depth perspective. Dicillio and Daugherty as the backups, then what? Injuries at LB have been a problem, hope we stay healthy there. Cunningham hasn't been mentioned at safety, so I'll mention him. He has played special teams and is also capable. I also think Hagan and Mayne Williams will make noise at safety. I heard someone mention Krizanic for that position...the more athletes the better, but he will get a long look at QB.

At corner we look experienced again, but are we not deep.

If this team stays healthy in 2016, we are going bowling again and will have a crack at the East title game.

LB depth is not a concern. I see the starters are Poling, Brown, and Moore. Behind them you have Daugherty, Croutch, and DiCillo, all of who played this year. In addition you have a couple guys that redshirted, Marcus Brunson and Addrell Taylor, plus three linebackers in the 2016 class, Connor, Dorsa, and Popp, plus you have some solid walkons including, Austin Clack, who was recommended by the same guy that sent AJ to Ohio, Jacob Koons of Trimble, and Erik Stein from Dublin-Coffman.

Depth at DB is much more concerning to me, especially at Safety where injuries have been rampant the last few years.

One thing we never get at the end of Spring camp, for whatever reason, is a depth chart. Usually the first real depth chart we see either comes from web sites, or from Arkley. I don't recall Arkley having one at the end of Spring, and the web site that had a chart first last year currently has a wrong chart with lots of holes, and with players that are no longer on the roster:

This thread reminds me of rearranging the chairs on the deck of the Titanic. We don't have the talent. Very few All-MAC players, in this sorry excuse for a conference. You can plug these guys into any slot you want. It's still poor quality players -- even by MAC standards -- in those slots. Need a coaching staff that can recruit and can coach exciting, imaginative football. Send Solich to the rest home where he belongs. He's past his prime, if he ever had one. Get your OHIO on.

I don't think he's trying to predict who gets on the team so much as who he thinks will be the best players. I'm glad to see someone who usually knows what he's talking about thinks so highly of Strobel because I really didn't know what to expect from a guy who has had limited playing time so far.

I meant Maxwell Howell, If the Motley twins bulk up, they may play. I hope Houchins plays, I am from Cleveland heights, so he is from right around the corner, but he will have to come in hungry and improved. Maxwell Howell was once offered by Ohio State, I believe. he could be the guy. I could see some safeties moving over as well. I really hope Hagan and Williams come in as advertised.
