Cancelled due to the manner in which the paint cured/hardened on the new turf.

Huge black eye for the Hall, especially in the debut of an extensively updated stadium. They are investing upwards of $600 million in the HOF complex over the next several years - this is going to be a very cool destination. Too bad their premier weekend got ruined.

I read last night that the turf was to be used for only last nights game and had been used this past season at the Superdome? Anyone have insight for the reasoning behind this if true?

Because this project isn't even close to being finished.

Wonder if there is any difference in the turf style between outdoor and indoor. Or maybe it was just too damn humid for the type of paint they used.

No differance between the typ laid inside and the type laid outside. I'd say more to do here with hasty installation since this was a temporary rug.

Oh this was just a temporary turf they were laying? That seems like more trouble than it's worth.

I also read that in their efforts to use heat to speed up the paint drying time they ended up melting the rubber pellets that are spread into the surface around the same area as the event logos etc.

Agreed....McKinley's first home game is being played at Central Catholic, then the next home game is scheduled at Fawcett on September 23rd. Should have scheduled this HOF game in Akron or Massillon.

The turf was part of the donation by Tom Benson. It came from the Superdome and was last used for the Sugar Bowl.

This turf was NOT what will be laid down, this field was a one and done, this game only! The renovations will not be completed until next summer. This field was going to be torn up after the game was played so construction can resume. There will be no HS games at the facility this year.

McKinley has scheduled all their home games at CCC
