On a tangent, it looked like we could have blocked TX State's punt almost any time we wanted to. It laren'td like we did get a small hand on one punt.
Such a block could easily have been a game-changer.
We made the same observation yesterday. The punt rush was getting close without a lot of effort in rushing the punter. If we aren't going to try to block the punt, I don't know why we send anyone at all. Those players could back up and block on the return instead.
It's a good thing Brian Haines is such a great recruiting coordinator, or else he would really need to be concerned about his job security.
