1.Force the action resulting in turnovers by guys just trying to do too much. Extend a run play ending with a fumble, force passes into coverage, return kick offs 7 yards deep in the end zone, etc.

2. lose our cool resulting in unnecessary penalties.

3. Get overly conservative on play calling.

4. Have breakdowns in the kicking game since everybody in new.

5. Panic if we fall behind early.

I don't see those things happening other than perhaps forcing the issue offensively. I am going to flip your topic and give you 5 things I am excited to finally see in live action against an opponent and am hopeful will work out or be better than expected!

1. Greg Windham to be a game manager and throw for 175 yards, a score or two and run for a score with no picks.
2. Our kicking game, both punter and kicker, to show that while they look the part, they are the real deal.
3. Our defensive backs, Miller, Houchins, Fox, Hagan, Nelson, Cunningham, Hardy et. al. are more ready than we think they are and turn into a strength.
4. Papi White makes a Sportscenter Top 10 play and Irons and Brown get meaningful carries when we are not blowing this team out.
5. Tom Strobel is an absolute stud and he, Laseak and Basham crush the Texas State Quarterback at least 5 times

This made me chuckle. I think your hopes will be dashed on this one.

Plain vanilla will be the order of the day.

As it generally is. Frank is a lot of things, but adventuresome in play calling isn't something that seems too far up his alley.

I don't expect Ohio to play their best game of the season on Saturday but you won't be able to tell from the scoreboard. This is a tune up for Kansas.

I just want to see our defense get off the field after third and long. QB's escaping the pocket for first downs have been a trend recently.

Per the Game Notes Ohio ranked 17th of 127 in 3rd Down Conversion Pct Defense. How horrible could it be?

Where we need improvement this year is tackles for loss. We were 88th in sacks and 107th in TFLs. The front 7 need to put more pressure on the ball carrier.

Does TFLs include no-gain carries? The eye test and my ever-worsening memory indicates that we stuffed the run more often than not, but katie-bar-the-door if anyone made it to the second level because they were gone.

One thing I don't want to hear: AJ's injury killed us.

We cannot be so frail as to have one good player's injury bring about that first half.
