Happy to answer any questions. The must-do's are to see the original rules of basketball at Allen Fieldhouse, and eat along Massachusetts St.

My cousin has been to the University of Kansas and Lawrence and actually spoke highly of both. He really liked the campus a lot and said the main portion of it was actually set on a hill, which surprised me to hear that as I expected Kansas to be flat. He raved about Allen Fieldhouse and said the football stadium wasn't anything special but he still enjoyed seeing it. It's one of the few FBS stadiums that still has a track around it which doesn't help, but he said the open end of the stadium has a real nice view of a grass slope that makes for a really nice campus scene.

KU student here, best part of game week in Lawrence is the bar band. They go around to some of the local bars the night before every home football and basketball game and are a must see for anyone visiting. Follow Lawrence bar band on Twitter to see where they'll be. Looks like they'll be at Bullwinkles(the bull) at 1040, the hawk at 11, and the wheel at 11:20. I'll be at the bull you should swing on by

Dining in Lawrence. Sister lives in Kansas. She says in Lawrence find the Six Mile Chophouse or Johnny's Tavern West. She says downtown will be teaming with gray haired hippies. "That is just Lawrence."

I'd advise against her suggestion. West Lawrence is like any suburb in America. Downtown is a must, especially on game day.
