This was one of the worst losses I've ever experienced as a Bobcat fan (only been a fan since 2010 when I was a freshman). Miami 2012 was horrible and probably stung worse. And of course all of the late season smackdowns every season, who could forget those.

But this one might have been the worst. 21 pt favorites at home to start off what I was expecting to be a solid season against a bottom dweller in the Sun Belt. Think about it. Texas State fans came onto this board and basically admitted their program was in shambles and they expected to get blown out.

Pathetic. I hope we can beat Kansas next week. Admittedly, that would really be a huge boost for me.

I would like Bcat2 and the rest of the SFB to respond to the last sentence above.

Beat Kansas and this one gets "erased" IMO. Most of us expected 2-2 out of the non-conference. Maybe we can dust ourselves off and pull the upset.

Agreed. I'll be really happy with a 2-2 non-conference record.

Go back and look at the prediction thread. Most people expected 3-1. They thought the Kansas win was all but a foregone conclusion, let alone Texas State.

For a moment I thought I had been transported back in time and we were playing Knorr ball, or better yet, Lichty ball.
I was at the 1992 night game at winless Eastern Michigan when a 1-6 Bobcat team lost 7-6 after missing I-can't-remember-how-many field goals. OU lost its last three after that, including to I-AA Youngstown St. at home, to finish 1-10.

That '92 EMU game was rock bottom for the program in my book. Funny though, sitting in the stands watching last Saturday's performance, I was reminded of that '92 game.

They would fit right in with you.
