Must admit that i didn't watch the line play very much vs. Kansas. Obviously, both lines had pretty good games. That said...

Missed extra point of our first TD was due to bad snap. Must stop this.

Interesting (good, effective) move on, I think, Windham's first long qb draw type play. Almost always when that is run, the qb has his head down and turned as if he's really handing off to the running back (who he's actually faking a hand off to). On this play, Windham kept his head up and focused downfield (like a qb surveying for a receiver) so he could see where the running hole developed for the draw. I think this play went for 41 yards.

If our qb does this a lot, it's a giveaway that he's going to run. But it can work 2-3 times a year.

The safety we got on the KU run was attributed by one of the gamecasters to their running back starting so deep in the endzone with the ball at their half yard line. Hmm--sound familar to anyone saying go under center so the running backs are closer to the goal line when we're running plays close to the other side's goal line?!

We had an illegal motion on our qb! I think it was just before our 2nd td. Kinda funny. Just a one-time mishap I'm sure...but weird.

We seemed to use rollouts a fair amount of time. To keep our qb from pass pressure? Also gives better angles on passes to the side roll out is to. Of course, eliminates throws to the other side of the field as off balance and too far to throw to with any juice on the ball.

Dorian Brown broke for about a 40 yard run toward the left sideline. I think this was late first quarter. At the sideline, he made a really nice move. Defenders kind of had him angled so he could have just run out of bounds. But he cut back toward midfield and got a few more yards. Just a nice, determined move to get the max out of the run.

Not many fans on one side of the field (student side) when the camera happened to catch that view.
How hot was it sitting in the seats? Any breeze. Gamecasters said fairly strong wind running goal line to goal line, but that coulda been a hot breeze.

KU's defense in the first half, at least, was impressively slow and missed a ton of tackle opportunities.

There was a play late 2nd qtr, i think, in which one of our receivers appeared to catch a ball in the endzone. It was ruled incomplete on a defender slap away of the ball. But live and replay it sure seemed to me as if our guy caught the ball, controlled it, come down and took about a step. Sure thought that was a td for us, that the refs missed it. But we didn't ask for review.

We had a 4th and 3 at about their 35 or 38 about mid way, I think, in the fourth quarter. We didn't punt or field goal; we went for it. (I think we made it.) Should always go for it in those situation.

A false start was called on our O-line (4th quarter, I think). That stops the clock, right? But we took a timeout right after the penalty. That sure seemed a sign of disorganization and a wasted timeout. I'm in favor of taking a timeout whenever one is needed to get the team organized if it's in chaos. But there shouldn't be chaos very often.

Cloud, floating passes.

Also, no matter how we do this year, it's not as robust without Manny The Situation participating.

He may hates me but I do enjoy a good give and take.

I'm wouldn't say I'd always go for it, but I'd like to see us go for it a lot more often than we do in this spot on the field.

I think he started earlier than he should have on another play but they didn't call it. A little too excited to get going I guess.

Most of the "give and take" you have with him and others on this board is boorish and uninteresting. I'd like to have less than more of it.

He was flagged twice for it. Could be miscommunication on the snap count, but I didn't see anybody else moving. Maybe it was the wind. :)

Speaking of the wind, I think that has a lot to do with whether to kick or go for it on 4th and 3 inside the 40. I think we were heading into the wind, so trying a FG wouldn't be wise. Punting also might not get you that much. Solich said he'd go for it more on 4th down this year.
