Yuck… Who do you cheer for in that game? I guess Akron since they're a MAC brother?

Akron wins 65-38. Louisville coming into Huntington next Saturday. Wonder if their scoreboard supports triple digits?

Anyway, one of my favorite days of the year is reading Chuck Landon the day after Marshall's annual MAC loss.

Wonder what the excuse will be this time. I'm sure he will say "clearly the better team didn't win this one. Turnovers and the lack of scoring points hurt Marshall's chances"

Doug Smock of the Chas Gazette, a good writer, wrote before the game that it was essential that Marshall beat this MAC team because the MAC had surpassed CUSA by some measures.

I did hear that Marshall had 11 penalties in the first half. If this was a MAC officiating crew, I suppose Landon could use that as an excuse...biased officiating.

watching UK New Mexico St.

745 yards at halftime 35 35 score. Ridiculous offense, Sorry D

Seems like halftimes around the country are offense oriented this weekend

Akron had 13 penalties for 136 yards and Marshall had 17 for 180. But the -3 turnover differential did in the Herd. Zips also blocked a punt for TD.

CUSA is a logistical disaster of a conference. It's loaded with schools who don't want to be there but have no where else to go. I get a kick out of Marshall fans who are still convinced of its "Superiority" to the MAC. They can have that mess.

Marshall is now 8-6 vs MAC since leaving for CUSA. 4 of those wins came in 2014 when they finished 13-1.

props to the Herd fan that left this quote on their board-

"I just view it as our annual A$$ whooping from the MAC. I've grown accustomed to it. It just looked different this year because the other team wasn't wearing dark green."

I thought his post would be about our lack of TD's versus Tennessee in yesterdays first half.

Never thought Marshall scores and interest would make it to the top of our minds while we are playing and SEC team if front of 100k and holding our own.
Why are you obsessed with Marshall?

When they are in your back yard and their fans talk non stop smack about the MAC it's always fun to watch them eat some crow. Go creep on their board and you will always notice a theme. In their minds they have the #1 G5 recruiting class every year and are on the verge of "the next level". In reality their recruiting is always way over hyped by the local media and fans and they are locked in the G5 just like the rest of us. The constant screaming of CUSA superiority over the MAC is also laughable. Next year when they play Miami, I will be rooting for Miami!

Always pull for the MAC in non-conference games...it is reflection on the conference, and therefore Ohio.

Otherwise, you get the media taking jabs at the MAC like:

Todd Jones þ@Todd_Jones · Sep 3
Bowling Green still has less points (10) than #OhioState had players selected (12) in the first four round of the past NFL draft.

Todd Jones þ@Todd_Jones · Sep 4
#Texas vs #Notre Dame is why there should be a super division of schools so we don't have to sit through anymore games decided by 67 points. (REFERRING TO BGSU BEATDOWN AT OSU)

Aaron Portzline þ@Aportzline · Sep 3
Wait. Is this Bowling Green University or Bowling Green High School? #hurryupnfl

Can someone remind me why Ohio is not playing Marshall this year? Ohio's decision? Marshall's? I believe this should be a yearly matchup.
