Punching a team in the mouth can go two ways. Va Tech punched them in the mouth Saturday night and went up 14-0. 31 consecutive points by Tennessee later, the rout was on. I won't say it's impossible to win but I will say if we don't find a way to convert more red zone chances into TD's, we won't keep it close. It has been a problem in the first two games, settling for 3. Way too many short FG's. With this stable of runners, I'm a little surprised this has been an issue. It seems like more often it's passing teams that get stalled out in the red zone when the field shrinks.
We lost our go to guy to run these short ones in on the forth play of the year. Papi is great, but not a up the middle sure thing. Irons was injured for half the KU game. We do not have a stable of runners. We have become very short of running backs right now. We have 5 total on our roster, KU had 8. Not saying they're good, but they have the numbers. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hardy taking some snaps again.

And just imagine the consternation if our starting QB goes down with an injury. Again we have 4 QB's on our roster, KU has 6. Stuff happens, we are short handed in both those positions right now IMHO.

Who are the three players he said "might play" on Saturday. I assume that the question, which I couldn't hear, was about the injured players. Therefore, I'm guessing that he was saying that A.J., Irons and Reid were all possible for Tennessee. Did anyone else read it differently?

Not really, we can play with them. We do not have to be flawless or lucky.

You lose to Texas State at home and think you can go on the road to UT and hang with them?

Tennessee barely beat App State and we should have beat them. We are not scared of tennessee.

Not sure a D that gives up 550 yards to Texas St stands much of a chance against the athletes UT has...but good luck.

We had a horrible week granted, but our defense was the best in the nation last week during the first half. If you guys cannot throw, you will lose, you are not running over anybody, believe that. Texas State got us through the air, we will have to see how good your aerial attack is.

We will see. They looked pretty good rushing for 240 yards against VT...gotta think they are capable of the same against you guys.

Also Kansas sucks...not a good barometer of how good your D is.

As KU has 8 RBs and 6 QBs on its roster, where are they short?

Where is KU short; let's see, how about punt returner and long snapper?

Will the 110 be making the trip as they did during OHIO's last trip to Knoxville? Earning a standing O by many Volunteer Fans for the 110 half time show! That was one wet weekend where OUr Bobcats gave Lane Kiffin all he and his team could handle.

Will Patty Page be brought out again to join Tennessee's Marching Band to serenade you attendees with a little, "How much is that Doggie in the Winder"?

Hey, let's be a little eclectic. I like the 110 and it's style, but I can also appreciate bands with other styles. And, who can not like the Singing Rage, Mrs. Patti Page?

They're certainly not all scholarship players.

Looks like Tennessee has a fairly good sized injury list. Probably saving them for their tougher games. 2 defensive starters.

I think that we will be close to a 4TD underdog.
We open as 27.5 underdogs.
I still feel as if we are completely overmatched. I say we cash the check and not suffer any more injuries. This is not our most important game.
Could you let us all know what your pre-game speech to the team would be if you were FranK?
The same one that Hue Jackson gives before every Browns game.

Mike, he has 5 posts and all of them are in the thread "Official Game 3 Thread: Tennessee." Do you think he might be a fan of the opposing team??? :)

lived in TN during the Payton years. Vols fans are a lot like Buckeye fans, just less teeth.
