Every year I look forward in seeing how we rank versus other conferences. To me, this is important for a lot of reasons. Over the years, the Sunbelt, AAC and Conference USA have done well in these bowl cup challenges. Ohio holds up its end of the bargain but the rest of the conference sucks in bowl games. We need our conference brethrens to win these bowl games to prop the MAC up. We need wins like Tulane over USC to have some decent leverage at the table. How can the MAC be taken serious if we can't beat teams in their 2nd or 3rd year in FBS (knock on wood; we play JSU). The open portal before bowl season does not help but the MAC needs to go above .500 in these match ups.

Here are the current standings:

If I'm not mistaken, the MAC champion tends to lose their bowl game against the opposing conference champion. Probably why Steinbrenner's seat is near the edge and by black curtains. Ohio's game tomorrow is big no matter if JSU is a household name or not in that conference. We need to beat them and I'm thrilled our school has a chance to change the narrative of the MAC.

The MAC won this award a couple of seasons ago, right?
