Just saw an interview with the guy from CNBC sport on the value of the 75 most valuable football franchises in College. He then went on to say that the top 50 or so will probably break away. If that is the case, College football as we knew it in the good old days is gone. Big money ruins amateurism and College football.

I'd venture to guess 50 is way too high. That's a nice round number because it's ~50 schools that generate ~$100M in revenue. I'd say the cutoff would be way higher, like ~$150M which is like a Top 20 or 25. There's a pretty sizeable dropoff after 25 and an even bigger dropoff at 50.

College football, as we knew it, has been gone a long time.

This is why I think its best to keep staff continuity for the time being until its better understood what the landscape is going to look like in 5 or 10 years. It could be something by then where we need a totally different type of coaching staff under totally different set of rules.

Its too early to definitively say how the Ohio program will be affected one way or the other with all the variables in play.
