Next week the bobcats host BG in front of a large homecoming crowd. If you are the coaching staff do you rest all the injured players in this one and turn it into a de facto bye week? I'm thinking you do here because if you go on the road against Miami pull out a win on the road leading start to finish with those guys not playing we should be find next week for keeping them out against BG. Then bring back the RBs and multiple formations for EMU to open up the offense.

Can't take BG lightly. Play whoever is healthy enough to go.

If we play with intensity we should get way up on BG quickly. However, with the way we have played this year, nothing is a given. I would try to rotate in as many as possible. I would also let Maxwell have more reps at QB and would rest our RBs as much as possible.

Ha! Just when I thought I had erased that memory from my mind...

Speaking of memories, when I walked into Yager Saturday, the first thing I thought of was the Tettleton sack.

On topic - establish the run. The OL needs to work on their run blocking this week and hopefully Brown will be ready to go.

Uncle Wes:
Simply stated, we are not nearly good enough to cruise to a win without maximum effort from our players, coaches, and overall game approach. Just sayin'. .

Ohio can't take anyone lightly or we will get throttled. Offensively we are just not that good. If we can somehow win the East it will be because of our defense.

BG's offense finally got on track last week against Eastern Michigan even though they lost. New QB James Morgan replaced Knapke and threw for 250 yards and RB Fred Coppett ran for 144 and two scores. Ohio's defense can't let them build confidence early and stay in this game.

The pass defense for BG has been atrocious. They're giving up 314 yds per game and rank #124 in college football in pass defense. If Albin opens up the playbook (which, he probably won't), Windham should have a field day. Like others have said, light this team up from the get-go and don't stop.

By any measure, their defense has been amazingly bad so far. Their run defense has been bad as well, giving up 5.1 yards/carry. Their pass efficiency defense is averaging 180.8, allowing 66% completions, 20 tds, and only 3 interceptions. They are giving up an average of 49.8 points a game. On the bright side, they lead the MAC in net punting, at 44.8 yards/punt.

Despite all this, it is important to remember that BG has some very good athletes. After all, they were the class of the MAC just a year ago. At some point, they might wake up, and stop playing so abysmally badly. I hope they wait a week or two, however.

A step further than that, BG has just completely owned Ohio recently. Hopefully it's not in the mind of the Ohio's players and in their psyche that BG owns them. Or maybe it is, to quote Bobby Boucher, they used it as tackling fuel.

BG has been very good over the last 3-4 years with a pair of MAC Championships to show for it. But this season BG is flat out terrible and might be the worst team in the MAC, which is hard to imagine. Ohio wins this one easily and it won't even be a contest.

I agree. Shut them out - I don't care if we score less than 20.........

Didn't BG score nine TDs against Ohio in the game last year? Nine times.

As clear as it is in your memory, I am sure it is equally clear in the memories of the returning Bobcat players.

I've thought for a long time that a certain poster from Cali was the most predictable on BA. Beginning to think, however, that Bcat2 is even more so. The above is an example where you know who posted it w/o having to look at the name.
Or the one in another thread where he posted today of giving Miami credit for our offensive struggles Saturday.

As a former player, BG is just one of those teams that shows up to play no matter what record they have. WMU is another team that is a thorn in Ohio's side. But I think we win 24-21. Zervos for wiiiiiiiiiiiiin! Its good!

I know I should be happy with any win, and I know Frank's style simply doesn't lend itself to shootouts (and frankly, our offense is, simply put, underwhelming) but honestly, if all we manage, at home, is a three point squeaker against a team whose defense can't find their d**ks with two hands and a flashlight, I'm going to be far more concerned than I was after last week's performance. I know we're not going to hang 70 on anyone, but if we can't get this one (at least somewhat) convincingly, I truly fear for the rest of the season.

I'll take a win - any win - on Homecoming against BG. I'd prefer it be one of those wins where OUr team is actually entertaining to watch. In other words, not a repeat of last weekend at Miami.

Speaking of entertaining to watch - what is Papi's status for this one?

Precisely why this game scares me.
