The opening line is Ohio -12. That seems a little big for my liking.

I saw 15 1/2 in the Dispatch today.

The only thing I'll venture about this game, is that I guarantee that we will not be the third team to score 70+ points on them. ;-)

166-51

Those are the numbers that I would post in every Ohio players' locker for this week's game. BG has outscored Ohio 166-51 in the last four meetings, all BG wins.

I'd love to hang 70+ on them but..

1) I don't think that is Frank's style

2) I don't think we have the fire power to put up those kinds of points.

Won't be too greedy....a solid win would work for me. Just want to see a wire to wire statement from the Cats saying we are sick of losing to BG and will leave no doubt today.

A little bit of bulletin board material as he implies that the MAC East is made up of a bunch of softies.

I didn't detect anything I'd consider bulletin board material. He only said what any coach would say, that they are still in the race to win the East.

I will paraphrase, "I think you (reporters) will agree that, based on who is in our division and who we have ahead of us on our schedule, we can still win the championship."

He has to say that to motivate his players. What would it sound like if he said that "we are out of it already"?

This is a huge game because a win will put us two games up on what may yet be the best team in the division. We'd also have the tiebreaker on them.

I know a lot has been made of BG's defense because it has given up 77 points twice, but the Falcons have scored 24 points in the second half of their five games. Less than 5 points per second half. Only 17 points per game overall. QBs have thrown 13 interceptions already. As wide open as the offense has been the past few years, they've been awful trying to throw this year.

On the one hand I know that BG was picked to win the East, and that they have a lot of talent. On the other hand I know they haven't been playing well. Still, I have been concerned that they would wake up one of these days, and get back on track, and start playing good football again.

After watching that BG press conference, I'm puzzled by many of the things he said. At this point his track record is not very good, but maybe in the longer run he'll turn out to be a great recruiter, like Fleck.

I'll pick this one Ohio 29, BG 7. For Ohio that's 2 TDs and 5 field goals. The 7 for BG is because colobobcat66 said "we're not going to hold anybody else we play to 7 points."

BG is a bad football team period, and lets face it the MAC East maybe one of the worse conferences in the country. That being said the MACC will go through Athens this year. Go Cats

That's not bulletin board material, the East is 100% loaded with a bunch of softies. Hell half of them lost to FCS teams this year all at home. Ohio just so happens to be the least soft of the bunch. The East is especially terrible this year. No question the West is and has been the better division, but with BG's massive falloff, it's even more tilted.

BG is bad this year.
The MAC East is the worst division in the FBS.
Ohio will be in Detroit.

No offense but BGSU is a bad team this year. Actually, the MAC East is probably the worst in all of FBS football. The MAC East title SHOULD be determined on November 22, 2016 in Peden when we host Akron. That is not stating that I think we have a great team because I do not at this point think we can stay on the field with either Toledo or CMU and especially WMU. Maybe we will improve but after watching our performances against both a very bad Texas State team as well as a very bad Miami team, I would not put a lot of stock in our team. Outside of Tennessee, Toledo and CMU we basically face a bunch of stiffs on life support. There are things I like about this team, but at this point we have a very long way to go. GO BOBCATS! Smack down the Falcons on Saturday.

Everyone keeps talking like this game is a walkover. Last time that happened we lost to Texas State.

Good point. The problem was that the team was thinking this way, too, if you remember one or two infamous tweets by team members before the TX St game. It really doesn't matter what us fans think, but a team that thinks they just have to show up to win is a team on the verge of an upset.
