On CBS Sports Network now. Looks like student protesters are trying to make their way to the field. Apparently there was racial graffiti painted on a campus building at EMU this week. A group of students at the game are moving around the stadium and there are lots of police blocking their path to the field.

In other news EMU is winning and has a good chance to go 3-1 OOC. Granted the 3 wins are weak but in the past it didn't usually matter much how weak their opponents were.

Not so fast. EMU just threw the worst pick six I've seen in my life.

EMU is going to start 3-1. That's a first in 21 years. Do you see three more wins on their schedule? Probably not but who knows.

Last year the MAC rated as the #7 conference in college football in most ratings. It isn't going to be any higher than that any time soon and it probably really doesn't matter hardly at all as far as bowl bids or anything, but having the perennial worst team in the league beat a team from the conference that it would be in competition with for that spot is helpful as far as that goes. AAC is the best G5 league and the MAC and MWC look substantially better than CUSA and the Sunbelt.

Crazy. EMU throws four picks, two get returned for touchdowns, but beat Wyoming 27-24. A Wyoming team that has already beaten Northern Illinois.

Now 3-1. First two-game win streak since 2011. Best start since 1995.

Forget the game. Protesters rush the field, rush over to the stands, start chanting, and now the entire EMU team rushes out of the locker room.... it looked at first like they were going to join the protesters but they just went to the band to sing the fight song.

This has to be the best thing that has ever happened at Rynearson Stadium.

The protestors helped increase the attendance, which EMU can always use. ;)

They slowly inched closer to the field all game which was a bit suspenseful, but they got their message out loud but peacefully. America needs more of this.

And they stayed until the end of the game. Honestly, Eastern looked full of piss and vinegar. They will get better. As was stated above, Wyoming had beaten NIU.

I felt like Eastern dominated most phases of that game. If not for the INTs it would have been a blowout. EMU actually looked pretty good.

Here's a mindblower-

1/3 of the way through the season and NIU is the worst team in the MAC West.

3-0 CMU
3-0 WMU
3-0 Toledo
3-1 EMU
2-1 Ball St
0-3 NIU

NIU plays an FCS team so will likely move to 1-3 but Ball St has a winnable game at FAU and could be 3-1 and 2 games ahead of the Huskies. NIU's next two games are @Ball St and @WMU. Holy cow.

I agree. They were peaceful and respectful and definitely made their point. They protested the right way. Violence and destruction of property does more to hurt the cause they are protesting for than help it.

Really good game and a solid win for Eastern. The game here in Athens in a few weeks will be tough. Although if their QB throws 4 nit I could see Ohio walking away.

EMU won a total of 7 games the previous 4 seasons. Phil Steele's pre-season mag had the Eagles considerably stronger this season.

Don't look now, but EMU got an AP poll vote this week.

Also they need to announce the damn EMU game time (I think tomorrow is 12 days out so that would be the day)

+1 I'm getting a little tired of this crap. Less than two weeks and still no game time. Would be nice to plan my weekend.

2:00 it is, - a lot of suspense to get the expected default "not on TV" start time

I concur on a lot of the thoughts here. Just freakin' say at the top of the schedule "we won't ever schedule anytime on a Saturday but 2pm ever in our lives unless TV says so". Put it on the schedule as 2pm with "subject to change depending on ESPN". Might as well put that in for basketball too. It's the truth.
