Because I wanted to compare the MAC to other conferences, I went here:

I was surprised that Fleck makes that much to be honest. On the other hand, I might guess that WMU makes the most money with football of any MAC school. They're at least close to the top with the larger community and essentially the best facility.

To me the oddest piece of data in that table is that Rod Carey at NIU, which is 2-6 so far this year, has already earned $52,500 in bonuses for his team's performance this year, and meanwhile Jason Candle at Toledo, whose team is already bowl eligible at 6-1, hasn't earned any bonuses yet.

Set the bar in the MAC high with the next hire. Make the base salary a cool $1.0 million with possible bonuses of another $500K. While you are at it, hire better assistants and throw another $1.0 million into the pool of $$$ we are using to pay them as well. Screw the faculty/staff who will complain. Tell them they ought to be happy they have a job and that their attitude is what is wrong with America. Tell them that for each one of them that are complaining, you have 100 others who would gladly take their job for the rate of pay they are receiving. jk
