Definitely looks odd seeing the 1-7 and 2-6 on the screen for BG and NIU...not that I mind...

It's terrible to see some of the better teams in the MAC like these two this bad right now after how good they've been recently. It's not good for the conference at all.

As others have said, losing your coach if you win in the MAC is a price you pay for success. In the case of NIU, the loss of some big time players hurts. They'll be back soon I think.

On the plus side, the previous lousiest team in the league -EMU- is on an upward trajectory which helps the league tremendously. Their win over Wyoming is one of the top three for the MAC this year. Miami is on their way back it appears. WMU is ranked and has a good chance to play in a New Years game.
The MAC will have lots of chances to show where they are in the 6 or 7 bowl games this post season. All is not lost.

Earlier this year EMU thought about dropping to 1AA. Since then, they've been in the thick of the West title race and are looking to be bowl eligible.

Idaho is dropping to 1AA next year, but could go out by playing in a bowl game. They're just two wins away.

Strange how fortunes can change.

+1

Things tend to go in cycles (even in much of the P-5 world). Step back from the edge, Ohiobobcat. I'm glad to see a changing of the guard in the MAC. WMU will experience this at some point when Fleck leaves, I just hope we're ready to move from "decent MAC team" to MAC power. Heck, I even look forward to Miami's continued improvement. It's a lot more fun beating them when they're good.
