Fiami continues to be hot. Up on CMU by 10 early in the third. Just got a 73-yd TD run to start the second half.

This is why people should not get too confident just yet.

Miami is hot and only ONE game behind us. Yes we own the tiebreaker, but we have a couple tough games coming up, while Miami's 2 final games are easier in Buffalo and Ball St.

Miami looks like a far more polished, confident team with Ragland at QB.

Unless my math is wrong, and it already has been once today. This only really matters if Bowling Green upsets Akron. With Miami and Akron losses it would be over before we next take the field. Otherwise we still need to win one of the remaining two to clinch no matter how this one ends.

They've scored 40, 28, and (so far) 30 pts in their last two-plus games.

BTW, CBSSN has a quality announcing team for this one. Includes Randy Cross, who was one of their featured NFL guys for years.

If Fiami wins out they'll be 6-2. If we lose out we'll be 5-3. If Akron wins out they'll be 5-3. So this game is important.

Agreed, MUCH better than the guys they had for our game last night. I did NOT like the main announcer.

Yes, it is important that it means that Miami can still win the division. But it is far more important to Miami and Akron's chances. Akron now needs Miami to lose to Buffalo or BSU. Akron having nothing to play for in the final week could even work to OUr advantage if we do lose to CMU. If Akron wins against Bowling Green then we are still in the same position that we would have been in anyway. We have to win another game.

Of course if BGSU beats Akron and Buffalo bets Miami it would still be over before we take the field next. But this game, in any scenario, was only relevant to Ohio if BGSU beats Akron.

Suddenly our game at CMU looks very winnable. They lost to Kent last week and now to Fiami. This has been a year where losing streaks have been broken, so maybe we can get past the CMU curse.

I would much rather have played them after a win. They are going to be as mad as hornets when we play them, and they have more than a week to try to get back to the form they had when they beat Okie State.

Randy Cross was heinous.

CMU was butt.

And Chuck Martin can't get out of his own way, icing his own kicker with a 20 point lead, watching him make the kick while whistles blow (unpenalized BTW), then sending offense back out to fumble in the backfield on 4th down.

Well, on the plus side, Miami's win helps Ohio's SOS a bit.
