I have this nasty feeling developing where we actually blow an appearance in the championship. Not sure if anyone else is feeling it.

So far this year Ohio hasn't lost back to back games. Akron is one of the coldest teams in the MAC at the moment. This week Ohio almost tied up CMU after a terrible first half. The chances of a team recovering from a half down 17-3 are very slim so to be close to doing so in the fourth shows grit. Its too good of a senior class to see a loss here.

Ohio beats Akron then goes north for the right to get assaulted by a bunch of oars. WMU is the standard for the MAC. My hope is that Ohio gets a nice share of the WMU cash from their bowl game.

+1

I'm not going to lie-there's a small piece of me that wants to see WMU win out and actually go to the Cotton Bowl and destroy whatever P5 leftover the NCAA throws at them. Plus the $ going to the MAC schools would be good.

I'm still waiting for the WMU-Toledo game to be played before counting any chickens re Cotton
bowl. You never know in the MAC.

If Wyoming loses to once beaten SDSU or to a decent New Mexico team then Boise St. should go to the MWC championship. There they would play SDSU while WMU played Ohio (hopefully). If both WMU and Boise St. claim conference titles I think Boise St. will finish ahead of WMU.

This has been the year for the Prophet Dylan . . . Cubs are world champions, OHIO wins in Glass Bowl, and now OHIO beats Georgia Tech and gets revenge for the 1960 NCAA tourney . . . perhaps there is more to come. Go OHIO!

Boise State is one spot ahead of Western Michigan in the rankings right now, so you're probably right. I'll be rooting for Wyoming so that it won't matter.

I don't know if it will matter in the end but WMU has to be a big fan of Colorado right now in the Washington State game. A win over a team that is unbeaten in Pac 12 play is what is making up for the Wyoming loss for Boise St. WMU might jump them back if that holds up and they get a win over Toledo next week which will add to the resume a bit more than a Boise St. win over a pretty decent Air Force team.

Wyoming is down four in the fourth to SDSU. If that holds up I think it puts WMU in serious jeopardy. Not only does it give Boise St. the lead in the division but it means they will play a 1-loss SDSU team in the title game. Adding Ohio and a MAC title to the resume while Boise adds SDSU and a MWC title (MWC is probably mot regarded by the committee better than the MAC by as much as most casual fans probably expect), IMO, is still not going to work out in WMU's favor. They need to root for Air Force next week.

Of course, as we all hope, Ohio could make all of this moot with an upset.

Wyoming gave up a Hail Mary touchdown but stopped a San Diego State two-point conversion to hold on for a big win. A Wyoming win next week against New Mexico would put them in the Mount West title game and not Boise State, meaning Boise State could not get the at-large choice.

let me explain how this works-

MAC team goes on a once in a lifetime run- undefeated, ranked, national attention, etc. A big bowl (and big payout for the MAC) awaits, the only thing that stands in their way is a 7-5 team in Detroit. Guess what happens.

I like our chances.

Why is everybody forgetting Toledo? WMU probably is thinking about them.

This brings up a valid point, if Ohio takes care of business and makes it to Detroit, is WMU or Toledo a preferable match up?

If Ohio doesn't take care of business Tuesday, WMU could very well be facing a 6-6 team in the MACC game instead.

I bet the MAC as a conference would not mind a 6-6 Miami Team going up against WMU in the MACC game. There are two teams in the conference that could pose a threat for WMU. Toledo and Ohio (playing up to our potential). Going back to back against the two top teams in the conference seems to be a recipe for an upset.

Right now, I think Miami is the biggest threat to WMU. They are rolling, they have an actual offense and they have nothing. to. lose.
