The incident happened Nov. 5, he was arraigned on Nov. 8 and he played at CMU last night (Nov. 15).

Does anyone know if a suspension would be standard practice? Obviously, J.T. Barrett and many others have been suspended after arrest but before trial, but I think it depends on the program.

He sat out the first half last night, I believe. That was probably the discipline for the offense.

That's a very very stiff penalty. Kudos to the coaches!

Unless the stats on the Athletic Department Web site are wrong, Quinton Maxwell started the CMU game at safety. AT SAFETY. He made two assisted tackles, and they were NOT after turnovers by the Bobcats.

One of Maxwell's tackles was during the first half, when Toran Davis was suspended. The other tackle he made happened in the second half, when Davis was back playing.

I didn't catch the radio broadcast until late in the game. Does anyone know if Eisenstein mentioned any of this? There's nothing about it in the official BA game thread.

It occurs to me that with an already depleted secondary (Randy Stites out for the season, Jalen Fox and Bo Hardy and maybe Tyler Tupa and others banged up), Davis getting in trouble was some really bad timing on his part. He was the senior leader of the secondary, and because he was out the redshirt freshman starting quarterback had to play both ways and start in the defensive backfield.

Wow. As Allen said, not good. On a team late in the year with a chance to do great things and really needing you, you get picked up for speeding while allegedly drunk or high.

Under a different regime, I'd be more surprised.

That's obviously a mistake. I'm guessing
it's Hagan (also #7)

Makes a hell of a lot more sense!

What would it take to have someone get it right on the Athletics Department Web site?

Still think it's bogus, because Grant Cunningham became the other starter at safety. Nothing against him, but you see my point.

Looked again at ohiobobcats.com.

Maxwell (#7) and Hagan (#7D) are listed separately on the defensive stats and the defensive participation report - Hagan with two solo tackles and Maxwell with two assisted tackles. On each, Maxwell is listed as the starter with Hagan as a sub.

But that's a good call bshot, I'm guessing your guess is right.

Might have to look for video ... but ... gotta feeling it'll have to be for a different day or at least later today.

The official stats have been confusing Hagan for Maxwell all year. Last year they confused Irons with Nelson, so this isn't uncommon.

Wow. Nothing gets the point across like making a guy sit a first half of a game. Next time why don't they smack him on the wrist and then give him an ice bag and a lollipop to make him feel better. SMH.....

Is that in addition to the ones who confuse you and BCat2?

Didnt Cunningham and Poling get the same punishment? So whats different with Davis who has never been in trouble? Cunningham was charged with a serious charge too.

That's exactly the point. This kind of "punishment" is simply a slap on the wrist. What consequence is there for doing it? Not playing a little bit of a game? BFD.

I agree the punishment should've been greater. Not sure if he was found guilty or not, it's always tough to deal with suspensions based on a conviction. At the same time, Solich set the precedent here his first year on campus.....

I hate Ohio State but it always makes me sick to think guys got kicked out for trading their personal items for Tattoos, yet guys commit serious crimes and only get 1 half. Obviously it isn't apples to apples, but if the NCAA really cares about Student Athletes....
