How is some of this crap being talked about before the season is even over??? Ohio could still win the MACC and a bowl people! Damn man, some of you need to get a grip. People are talking like the season ended last night and that Ohio finished 5-7 and the season is over with no bowl or MACC bid. If you want to bitch about failure or falling short, at least frickin' wait until it actually happens before you look foolish if it doesn't. It's that kind of attitude that makes it hard to stomach the thought of those same people glowing if Ohio were to win the MACC, as if they were behind the team and program the whole time, when in reality they were doing nothing but complaining and whining the entire time. No fan is owed a MAC Championship. Your team needs to win the division then win the MACC. It's earned, on the field. So for crying out loud, enjoy the opportunity to still get to play for one while it exists and stop moaning and complaining like it's over when it's not. You could likely see one team that hasn't won a MACC since 1968 playing another that hasn't won one since 1988. It would be a great scenario.
I think you are mistaking some of the comments. I, for one, am not saying the season is over. But it's frustrating to keep seeing Ohio lose games like Texas State, EMU & CMU... all games they could and should have won. (And had they won just one of either EMU or CMU, they're already MAC East champs)

We are in dogfight with f'n MIAMI for the division title. That's laughable.

Where Ohio is at as a program 12 years into this regime is barely above average. That's 60% as some have said. 7-5, 8-4... against the schedules they play isn't exciting. 4-4, 5-3 in the MAC five straight years isn't something that gets me pumped.

I still get season tickets and travel to a lot of road games to support them. But I'm also entitled to share my opinion of the program.

Sounds a little like the Cubs and the Indians. I can't wait. As a Cub fan I feel I'm on a roll! ;-)

Never one with less than four losses.

Fact.
Monroe this is your post of the year. The schedule is built to go 10-2 every year soft scheduling out of a G5 conference. We've got to win more games and MACs to be in the NYD conversation. No doubt could be at least a level better.

That's all I'm saying. We should be a level better considering how we schedule. 7, 8 win seasons against some of the worst schedules in the country is grossly underwhelming. It's groundhog day every year with this program

This "never played the game" drivel is old and tired.

So Mike Leach should never coach cause he never played the game.

Rece Davis and countless other commentators should shut up because they never played the game.

Dumb.

You don't have to have played the game to have an opinion. Silly.

Were you on campus when Monroe was? I was ... 'nuff said. He know zilch about intercollegiate sports. Sure, he can have an opinion .. no matter how bizarre it is. REPEAT .. do you KNOW Monroe? If not I suggest you refrain from making unintelligible remarks.

Its like going 20-16 every year in basketball with the huge amount of home games against smaller conference opponents included. For most G5 schools that would be pretty nice but this is OHIO we are talking about, one of the premier G5 schools.

Fact. It's honestly what eventually cost Larry Hunter his job at Ohio. Too many 19-12, 20-13 seasons with no MAC titles or postseasons.

So you have some axe to grind with a dude you went to OU with 30+ years ago. And because of that I am making "unintelligible" remarks. Ha! Whatever man.

You're right. I lost as soon as I engaged with you. But while I'm here, I guess I'll keep going.

No. Monroe is not smarter than Fleck when it comes to football.

But I've been around sports long enough to know what coach-speak is. All coaches do it. It's nothing new.

mid70s: Who are you? What's your beef with me? What do you know about me? Did we have any particular interaction while in school at OHIO UNIVERSITY?

Nice to know that your remarks are driven by personal animosity.

I assume that you didn't like my politics at OHIO UNIVERSITY....which probably means you don't know the facts.
