Former star running back with over 2800 yards between '99 and 2002, is now the President of Football Operations for the Tennessee Titans, who have the number one selection in the '25 NFL draft. He's the guy who'll lead their draft process. My guess is we'll be seeing and hearing his name a lot over the next 12 weeks or so.

If the Titans cared about winning, they would have kept Derrick Henry.

They are getting a new 3 billion dollar indoor stadium even if they still suck.

They lived too long off the one Super Bowl they went to (and lost) 25 years ago. If Wychek's "lateral" to Dyson in that Buffalo playoff game had been ruled an illegal forward pass, the franchise would have been better off long term with a first round loss.

Now the Nashville hockey team is trying to live off the glory of a Cup near miss in 2017 and has fallen on hard times too.

** People couldn't get $2 for their tickets for the last Titans game. Hope he understands how bleak that situation is.

Brinker's next job will be to hire a new General Manager, as the Titans fired Maurice Carthon today.

Speaking of Brinker, does Cam Skattebo remind anyone else of Chad Brinker? That's immediately who I thought of, and when he threw long pass, caught one and ran for TD...REALLY reminded me of Chad. Of course, Chad had TD's on all three in one game, LOL.

His threesome was key to a 23-17 win at Minnesota.

My son-in-law has season tickets for both the Titans and Preds. Maybe I know about this. The Nashville sports media kisses the Titans ass even when they are horrible. I've joked over the years that what is holding them back are their high academic standards...their respected medical school and school of law. (which obviously doesn't exist) Yet, Vanderbilt is 13-1 in basketball today and gets almost no coverage from the local sports media...while also being ranked in the top 20 in the nation for academics.

A last place team getting a 3 billion dollar indoor stadium. What would they have gotten if they finished with let's say 5 wins instead of 3 wins?

They were the #1 seed in the AFC as recently as the 2022 playoff year (2021 season). This was part of three consecutive seasons in the playoffs. They were a last place team this year, but they're not far removed from some level of success. Every season in the NFL, 25% of the teams are last place teams in divisions with four teams. Separately, I'm not sure how having a son-in-law with season tickets qualifies one as an expert.

That and having lived there for decades and keeping up with sports in that area since before lots of people on sports forums/social media were even born.

That.

Things Nashville sports fans don't know or will pretend they don't:

Titans went a combined 5-27 in 2014/2015
Jeff Fisher had a total of 6 winning season out of 16 coaching the Titans/Oilers.
This is the third losing season in a row.
Munchak had 3 losing seasons out of 4. (if they ever remember him)

The people there blindly worship Jeff Fisher and Barry Trotz. Not sure how they are going to react if Trotz fails as GM and gets pink slipped. Fisher finished his NFL coaching career with 6 straight losing seasons but there are people in Nashville who would swear he is the savior of the program if the Titans hired him back. (plus that 2-8 season coaching in the USFL)

So that means your routing for a HoF Bobcat and one of the brightest stars in the NFL front office to fail. Just because you live in Nashville and know all about their sorts world. Got it! Maybe you should call Chad and be his agent. I could get you in contact with him.

Brinker is the "OG" to our freshman class. I wonder if they still sell the Brinker Burger in Martins Ferry?

If there were a BA drinking game where you drink anytime greencat mentions Vanderbilt's academic standards, everybody here would have died 3 years ago.

We get it. You live near a school that has great academics. Cool.

Did you miss the part where he's retired and moved to Athens, and now complains about the loud mufflers around his neighborhood? I actually agree with him about the latter!

A good snowstorm put an end to the fake race car noise.

A warning about how pro sports has gone to crap in "Music City" is NOT the same as wishing for Brinker to fail except for a certain bogus troll with reading/comprehension impairment who somehow hallucinated that meaning. Maybe he is still tripping on acid from Halloween.

They don't sell much of anything in Martins ferry anymore unfortunately. Zontini's Pizza sounds pretty good right now.
Metzger is also an Ohio alum and a native of Dover.

See, you just ooze negativity and cynicism about everything that surrounds you. New Year's resolution, start a positivity journal and write something positive every morning. Maybe B-Love can join you.

Out of TWENTY years I have posted here and 2000 posts (a really small number for 20 years compared to many on here), sometimes a dose of reality needs to be thrown out there. Sure, ignore all the positive stuff...like the support for Brian Smith to be hired. I was one of the first two to do it. However, as stated before, this is the only sports forum I've ever seen that didn't have an "ignore function." It doesn't cost any extra. The mod just has to check the box to make it an option under settings. Then if I bother you so much, you can simply put me on the "ignore" setting. It's a win-win. See - positivism. (the correct word) Glass more than half full!! Have a nice day!😀😁

Nah you don't really bother me, I was just giving you a hard time...if anything I find it entertaining. And I was talking more about general takes, I wouldn't say for Bobcat matters you are overly negative. Just every time we drift into other topics you are there with the fire. My favorite is your crippling hatred of Belmont.

But I already explained in great detail, it was the "old" homophobic bible-thumping version of Belmont I didn't like. It's a different place over there these days. They even had Brit Floyd play in the palatial new Fisher Center for the Performing Arts. See, people only remember the negative because this is apparently what they want to remember. When you go positive, it goes
unnoticed.

So I am being positive once again and thank you for bringing that up.
😎 <-- see me being positive and it didn't take a blog or podcast to do it!!

So-called "Liberty"

"Liberty" was fined $14 million by the U.S. Department of Education, which found that the university had long discouraged sexual assault victims from coming forward, among other behaviors. LU is also subject to increased federal monitoring through April 2026.

Jerry Falwell Jr. resigned from his role as president of "Liberty" following controversy over a provocative photo and revelations of his wife’s extramarital affair with a Miami pool boy.

Lots more if you want to keep going.

There will be no change of heart about so-called "Liberty" from this corner.

Don’t leave out Mrs Falwell giving private horn lessons to her sons band mates when they came over to weekly dinner.

Thanks for helping me discover your core philosophy. I could have guessed that you were an adherent to logical positivism, but it's nice to see it from your own hand. ; -)
