Could make or Break the G5 in the future for the CFP.

Problem is that if they lose, they’re say they didn’t deserve to be included and if they win they’ll figure out a way to screw the G-5 because they don’t want anyone to join the club.

They can lose and play tough and it’s deserved. Get blown out would be a problem. Boise is one G5 that has built some street cred over the years.

Let’s face it, if they were somewhere else , had more money or had higher academics or whatever, they would have been in a P-5 or P—4 by now. No G—5 more deserving for sure.

Game a lot closer than the score line. Kicking game hurt them.

Boise hung tough, turnovers and kicking game definitely did not help for sure. That first FG attempt was as bad as an attempt that I’ve ever seen.

Enjoyed the TV crew that did the game. Straight forward, informative, and no BS.

With how Texas and AZ State is starting, Boise State might end up being the most competitive loser in the playoffs this year. Indiana might have only lost by 10, but that game was not as close the entire time.

The seeding for the playoffs is clearly an issue. Although, in fairness, its kind of like those early Super Bowl games where the games would get out of control early leading to ridiculous blow-outs. It took a few years for both teams to adjust to the enormous pressure of the game. With that said - the seeding, this year, is rubbish.

Ah yes, clearly Oregon shouldn't have been #1 since they got blown out then, right? There are always blow outs in college football. You can't avoid it no matter what you do with the seeding. That being said, the whole "top four conference champs get the top four seeds" thing is really confusing to everyone.

It has less to do with seeding than it does that these are still 18-22 year old college football players and you have no idea what you're gonna get from them game-to-game. Ohio State looks like the best team in the country right now after an embarrassing loss to Michigan. Texas, a near lock for the playoffs, should have probably lost yesterday. Sometimes you just don't match up well with another team or you're just off your game. Oregon looked dreadful yesterday and no one doubted they should have been #1.

teams with byes are currently 0-3 and quite possibly 0-4 after today...just some food for thought

Twenty-five day layoffs between games could certainly be a factor. Go to 16 games, no byes. Sure 1 will play 16 but 1 plays 64 in basketball and 2 plays 63 and there have certainly been upsets through the years.

One could argue that some of the teams with byes did not actually "deserve" it based upon rankings. The favored teams per the betting lines went 3-0. I would be highly surprised if the current seeding arrangement is in place next year.
