He will be one of 110 invitees. Congrats-another step to the next level.

half won't show up, especially if they feel they are first round picks, they have more to lose than to gain, but this will give him the exposure he needs. He needs to go there and outrun and hustle the other DE's

How can this be happening? A noted expert on this board told me in the off season that in no way was TB even remotely NFL talent. Must be a mirage. Nothing to see here. Move on. Best that the mods delete this thread lest the BA rabble hang on to the delusion that the 2016 Bobcats have anything better than DIII talent.

Basham. Two stars by 247 & Scout, committed Feb 6, 2013. Four years later Ohio has a new all time sack leader.

And what did BA pundits think of him when he was recruited?

Laseak was the year before, Crutch, McCleod, Branz & Purdham were in house, Sayles and Basham that year, they have brought in Tautuiaki, Porter, Smart, Berger & Aloese. I really like the work these men have done.

Tarell was an early enrollee. Hope he finishes well and whole to make a run through the Senior Bowl and the Combine. I would expect him to take the spring to train for the combine. I will be very disappointed if he is not invited.

Per Arkley @ The Messenger, "Basham is just the second MAC player, so far, to accept an invitation to the Senior Bowl. WMU guard Taylor Moton has also accepted an invite."

There were several NFL players on that Hargrave team looks like Basham will join them I say 2/3rd round with a good showing. Too bad his idiot brother came to Athens and got half the team in trouble and one sent to Prison

But, according to at least one expert on this board, he doesn't meet his "eye test." Must be smoking Meigs County Gold up there in MAC Headquarters to have this guy named DPOY.

This is a big time honor for Basham and goes along nicely with his DPOY in the MAC. Bcat2, I for one have never said a 2-star or NR rated guy cannot develop and be coached up and/or become an NFL player. What I have said is it is DIFFICULT IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE to get enough of those 2-star and NR rated guys coached up and developed enough AT THE SAME TIME to win Championships. Maybe this year will prove me wrong.

I would only say after 12 years I wouldn't at all mind being wrong. But, I would remind you the other team has a whole lot more of the 3-star guys and that is why they are a big favorite. But, hey, that is why they play the game!

Casper. Well if this team with it's championship caliber defense has to settle for an East title it will be right up there with Toledo. Toledo not having a MACC during these twelve seasons either. Toledo having all the three stars that you would love. The stars, in the sky, just have not aligned for them either. That is why you just trust, stay the course and keep grinding. Solich's way has been just as close, just as often as Toledo using your way. So given the caliber of the young men Ohio has found through the years I have found soo much to be proud of even without the MACC. JMHO. The shame is with the outstanding group that is Ohio 2016 BA is not able to celebrate them more. Instead this.

Yes. Because playing in the West is so much on par with playing in the East. And yes, because Toledo hasn't had multiple coaching/regime changes in last 12 years. So easy to make that comparison. Why not celebrate Basham accomplishment without trying to start a shoving match about perceived success of Ohio football. You took this thread there. Not Monroe, not me, not anyone else. You.

Keep being you.

44 pitching a shut out...shut down.

Which is kind of easy when the other side refuses to engage in any type of logic, instead adhering 100% of the time to the view that everything--as in everything--about the program is perfect.

Actually, better than perfect.

Shesh Bcat2 all I am saying is with a different recruiting philosophy I don't know that we would be having this discussion. I still say go out and get MORE BETTER players! It all starts with recruiting.
