I think next year there will be two new teams in the MACC in 2016 and my pick a year in advance is that it's going to be Ohio and Western Michigan.

Obviously OU will need to find a way to get past BG to win the East as the Falcons have won the East each of the last 3 years. But BG losses its starting backfield in QB Johnson and RB Greene and WR Lewis might be leaving early for the NFL. Those are massive losses. Plus, BG will have their 3rd different head coach and staff in as many years. While OU returns Sprague and Ouellette, the Bobcats could potentially feature a Big 10 starting backfield at QB (Krizancic from Minnesota) and RB (Hilliard from Iowa), returns all the top WR's, and has most of the front 7 coming back on defense. Plus the game is being played in Athens.

Over in the West, despite NIU winning the West the last 6 years, I think WMU will be the team that breaks that streak. WMU returns QB Terrell, RB Franklin, WR Davis and it looks like Fleck will be back to row the boat. But possibly the most important key is that WMU will host both Toledo and NIU in Kalamazoo next year.

So there you have it. It'll be OU vs WMU in Detroit in 2016.

Frank is going to have chop wood as the team battle cry. Watch for double bit axes on the backs of our jerseys next year to bring the theme full circle!

I posted this thread last year back on December 22, 2015. Last year's bowl games weren't even over yet when I made the prediction, let alone spring ball. And coming up on it a year later, it looks like a really good possibility. The biggest question at this point is will WMU make it to Detroit, not will Ohio, as Ohio has the much easier path remaining. The funny thing about the post is, four players I named for Ohio are either injured or no longer on the team. How does that speak for the team's quality depth?

Love it.

I'll buy you a beer at the MACC if it shapes out (knock on wood).

I'm salty that I would have to miss this game if it gets to this point. I got a game in Flint to work so unfortunately I cannot afford to be absent from the arena.

That said, if this does come to fruition and looking for something to do that Saturday, come on up to Flint and hang out with the Firebirds hockey team and me. Will have tickets for ya if wanted.

Man did I nail this prediction. [/QUOTE]The end conclusion, yes, the logic, not as much. This part could hardly have been further off:
