You are a football god, mid70s. No one should post without clearing it with you.

Mack Brown being a small town guy and a football coach may be good or bad. He's a totally bland, cliche, coachspeak analyst.

But, no, you all are right. He's widely revered as one of the finest analysts ever.

When they speak of paragons of coaching, you can be sure Solich is at the top as Brown is when they speak of the aces of analysis.

I like Mac Brown. If you listen carefully, he actually explains from a coach's perspective what's happening on the field, and why certain calls were made. However, if you are not into learning new things about the game, and just want to stay in a state of relative ignorance, you can just mute the TV when he speaks.

My son was not with us at the game but watched it on ESPN. He said the announcers did a good job, and specifically lauded the job that Mac Brown did. Perhaps, you're prejudice against his southern accent?
So now Monroe, who never played the game, has the insight to say Mack Brown, who coached college ball for many years, says Mack Brown did a lousy job on our game. Mack's resume includes:

1978 Memphis State (WR)
1979 Iowa State (WR)
1980–1981 Iowa State (OC)
1982 LSU (QB)
1983 Appalachian State
1984 Oklahoma (OC)
1985–1987 Tulane
1988–1997 North Carolina
1998–2013 Texas
Administrative career (AD unless noted)
1985–1988 Tulane
Head coaching record
Overall 244–122
Bowls 13–8
Accomplishments and honors
Championships
1 National (2005)
2 Big 12 (2005, 2009)
6 Big 12 South Division (1999, 2001–2002, 2005, 2008–2009)

and Monroe's is a blank piece of paper.

I imagine in part the fact Mack made some positive comments about Frank may have infuriated Monroe .. just a hunch.
Since you're so quick to share Mack Brown's resume and Monroe's ... Do us a favor and post your resume.
What went over your head? The comparison of football resumes? Unlike Monroe I played the game and have coached kids. And I imagine Mack Brown has forgotten more about football than many here will ever know.
I would just enjoy reading your extensive football resume. Not questioning Mack Brown or Monroe's resume, just wanted to see a similar rundown of your vast football experience
Are you like Monroe? Never played (or coached) the game? I have no desire to further elaborate on my credentials ... I have no interest in that. Suffice it to say .. been there (coached) and done that (won at my level). How about you?
If you're so quick to brag...why not share that awesome resume. I have no idea if you coached a pop warner team to their 5-6 year old championship and spent your formative years riding the bench playing JV ball at Glouster Trimble?

And for the record...go back and find one word I said about Mack Brown? Never questioned his call at all. But keep throwing me in that group.

This isn't about my resume.

You want to throw around your football knowledge and all your vast coaching/playing experience...shove it in people's face. I'd just like to know where it comes from. Not hard.

I thought Mac Brown and the crew did well. Honestly not sure what Monroe is upset about.

Also, the MAC is lucky ESPN continues to give us a Friday night slot.

The MAC has zero leverage here.

We should be happy for the exposure, that we got a solid crew, and that I didn't hear a "u" after Ohio all night.

Also, Mac Brown praised Solich and Ohio the next day on College Football Live on ESPN. Said Solich had the teamed prepared well and almost got the upset. Didn't need to be said. Mac Brown is OK by me.
+ 10. But don't tell this to either Monroe or bshot44. They'll never be willing to face reality. [/QUOTE]The reality is that you're the one that keeps firing verbal shots at folks about how they aren't allowed to have an opinion or question anything unless they played/coached the game.

I just wanted to know where you played/coached? Not that hard? It's easy to hide behind your keyboard and keeping puffing your super-football-experienced chest out.

I've forgotten more about Division I football than you or Monroe might ever know. But keep firing away with your defensive verbal shots that further expose your lack of knowledge of college football. It's fun for me.
And for the record....Ohio69....I totally agree. MAC has ZERO leverage vs. ESPN. Which is why we continue with these awful Tuesday night games. But I did hear Mack Brown toss an Ohio U in a few times (obviously not intentional...slip of the tongue)
