At the Kansas game the Bash was the place to be. Saw many of the player's families there. If I could make this one I would be there thanking them. Some here should make an effort to meet them. It is very hard to be down on the team once you get to know the players or their families.

Plenty of good watering holes walking distance to Ford Field.

I'll be bouncing around a few pre-game....and hopefully celebrating there post-game.

And bcat2....just in reply to the "meeting the players family...you would not be as down on the team" comment. I get where you're coming from....but just to clarify. When I get "down on the team" it is NOTHING personal to the players or their families at all. I understand the amount of work they put into this and how hard they work. I never mean to diminish that....but what you seem to misconstrue is my disappointment in the on-the-field results and where this program is after 12 years of Solich to that being a reflection on the players as people. The two are totally separate. It's natural to react to "your" team whether it be good or bad results on the field with an opinion. But I don't think anyone on this message board disrespects the players as people and questions their motives. I think too many times you tie those two together and that isn't fair to the players or to the people who share their opinions, positive or negative. You tend to think if someone gets down on the results, we naturally are disrespecting the players/coaches as people.

There have been many times on many teams when a really, really bad person does something extraordinary on the field and helps his/her team win. You don't say "Well, he/she made that awesome play so I'll just forget that they are a horrible person and (insert comment here....beat their wife/girlfriend....killed someone in a DUI....etc)

Just because some of us voice displeasure with the result of the game does NOT mean we are damning the individual player as a person. They are separate. And vice versa with bad people and good teams/wins.

Honestly, this is what comes with the territory of being a D1 or pro athlete. You're going to be criticized and praised....sometimes deservedly so....but many times not. It comes from both sides.

If you like good brewed on premises craft beers and a good menu the Detroit Beer Company is a 10-minute walk from Ford Field.
