Diaco out effective Jan. 2. Weird timing to save $1.6 million.

Weird timing that's putting them behind everyone in the coaching staff search and more importantly recruiting. This will set them back for a while.

It is weird timing, based on how thing ARE, but it's actually when coaching changes SHOULD happen - after bowls.

It might actually enhance their ability to obtain a good coach. If they're looking for a coordinator from a top program (NY6-caliber), the coordinator might not want to leave until after the bowl game anyway. This way those discussions can be held off until the games are played.

Instead, they get Randy Edsall to come back: http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/18363783/...

I believe Thomas Wolfe wrote a book about this sort of move, Randy Edsall. Good luck.

Wolfe knew nothing about football, or life for that matter. Ask Grover Cleveland for Lebron James. ;-)
