This is a very unfair comment, in my opinion. Do you remember that he was playing that game with a shoulder injury that turned out to be career ending, and that he had surgery immediately after the game? Do you remember that, had he sat out the Appy State game, he'd have set the all-time Ohio record for pass efficiency for a single season? If you want to pick on Sprague, go for it, but using that particular game as an example doesn't add much to the discussion.
He took a hit at the end of the game and had to come out...I'm not sure if that's what you're referring to or the hit he took in Week 2 against Marshall.

I don't care about "passing efficiency." He threw for >200 yards only once in an entire season (2015) and only twice in his entire career. He and Vick gave us forgettable and boring football for two seasons and wasted some of our best defenses. Our inability to move the football during their years is probably why we were blown out repeatedly in 2014 and 2015.

Windham makes mistakes and is reckless, but he's also fearless and makes big plays. He threw for over 200 yards four times this year and over 300 twice this year in limited starts. As wild as he is at times, he was a step up from the comatose performances we've been getting.

The funny thing is, Windham's play in the MACC and bowl weren't great..but they were much better than what we've gotten since TT left. He makes big plays and he makes big mistakes...but at least he makes some big plays! Without him we get blown out against WMU...just like we did in 2014 and 2015.

Do you remember Sprague's performance against Appy State? 14/28, 0 TD's, 2 INTS
Makes me wonder if Windham would have been better this year if he had prior experience.

He was hurt when he was hit out of bound by Marshall, and he didn't play much after that. He did play about half the game against BG, and the entire game against Ball State, then I believe he was re-injured against NIU. Originally he wasn't going to play in the bowl game because of the shoulder, but he was needed, and gave it his best shot. I never was a Sprague supporter, but I've got to admit that he gave it his best shot, and I'm not going to knock him for what he was able to do while he was hurt.
