Just want to make sure I understand - is this thread suggesting that Schaus is a problem? If so, is there something in the water around this board?
I'm not advocating - I'm just presenting a look at the situation. If folks feel Frank has been kept on too long (as many do)- that is o....n Schaus. If folks feel Saul is a good guy, but perhaps not the THE guy - such a conclusion will be a reflection on Schaus.
No question he has improved funding and facilities (as Kirby did). And other sports have thrived. But at the end of the day, football and basketball are king. Success, or lack thereof, will be judged (subjectively as "success" as we all know is ambiguous). And the AD, like the coaches will be judged.
Personally, I think Schaus' handling of Frank is a reflection of the ethos of the university and Ohio athletics - which I never judged - but personally feel are part of what makes Ohio...Ohio...OU....Oh Yea.
