I live on the northwest side of Cincinnati and driving down Colerain Avenue today (a major thoroughfare) I saw an Illinois Football (as in Fighting Illini) billboard featuring a picture of Lovie Smith and the phrase "We Will Win" next to it. C-U is about 3.5 hours from here so that seems like a bit of a stretch to try to sell tickets in this region.
The only thing that I can make any connection on is that a highly ranked player from Colerain High School recently committed to the Illini and maybe that was the reason?
Has anyone else who lives in Ohio seen an Illinois Football billboard near his or her home?
I haven't been up Colerain in a few weeks. I'll have to see if I can find that. Seems like a pretty expensive thing to try and nail a recruit, but then again maybe not.
