If you follow Twitter, you will see this to be the case. Tim Albin JUST followed two WMU recruits. And other coaches have been doing the same the last couple of days.

My guess is the cream of the crop ends up in Minnesota or goes to weaker Big Ten schools, a few might end up at Toledo or Miami. I just don't think that many MAC schools have the kind of cache that can steal the type of recruits he's been getting.

It still amazes me how Miami gets away with it, but they do. They are able to convince respectable college talent that their "name" will help them in their professional pursuits. The smart MAC football recruits realize that for most of them the only NFL stadium they are going to see is one where they are a paying ticket holder. Miami seems to convince them that the sheepskin with Redskin--Redhawk name on it is worth so much more than any other MAC school.

I got into a polite argument with a fellow alum and a OSU grad over Christmas break at a party. Both were signing the praises of some kid at their workplace who was a recent Miami grad. They both said, "we knew he was going to be good because he went to Miami." I reminded them that it was a state school just like our alma mater. They wouldn't hear of it, I even tried to sell the fellow alumnus on our claims to higher education fame. Miami has a way to sell their name well. Watch now that they are on the rise, they pull out all the stops. Roethlisberger might be persuaded to come back to Oxford for some sort of made up award that will be a weekend for all respective recruits to show up and dream about their futures.

As did Frank and OhioU Offensive Line.

There has to be some analytics service out there monitoring recruits/coaches Twitter/Instagram follows/unfollows.

Last person Frank followed before these two?

Shane Morris.

I assume you're getting at the whole integrity thing Billy. Stuff like this just demonstrates that there is very little of it in big time sports recruiting. Sad lessons that we are teaching our youth. So much for committing to OU or Miami or Western - it's a commitment to the coach and his program.

I don't think anyone is getting jettisoned. Ohio has plenty of open scholarships.

I would tweet at them a photo of rowboat in the Hocking outside of Peden.

That river wouldn't have floated a boat most of this past year. And one point this fall it wasn't knee deep in many places.

Ohio has 12 known recruits so far, plus one mystery recruit. The class will end up about 21, by my estimate, so there are still about 8 openings, give or take. If one or two WMU recruits move to Ohio, that would be the max you might expect.

Fleck is turning Minnesota into a MAC team pretty quickly. But perhaps that's an upgrade for them.
