The alternative scenario is to get blown out by UT and also by BG but still win the MAC East when BG stumbles against the likes of Akron and Kent. In this scenario OHIO is not ranked but has an elusive MACC under its belt. They also win a MAC low-level bowl.

This is not exactly a poll on 'is MACC the first goal' but it's close enough, the closest we have to my question. 69% want a MACC.

Thanks. It does indicate that people want a MACC, which I don't doubt, though, as you admit, it doesn't address whether that the first goal.
