She clearly said Bowling Green, Kentucky, which was the never-officially-recognized Confederate Capital of Kentucky. There were undoubtedly some massacres around there somewhere in the 1861-65 time period. Give the lady a break! ;-)

That's the point. The Trump side is so in-your-face in making stuff up, declaring itself the winner, and making sure others know that they are losers that they have squandered all goodwill..honeymoon..normally accorded to an incoming administration.

They did it to the country and themselves. So, if they get blowback, then they can look in the mirror.

So, no..no break.

It was actually in Fairview, KY. Been there many times as it's just a hop skip and jump from Hoptown, the big city that my mom's folks in Cadiz went to for major shopping.

This was a funny, football-related post...and you just had to bring your radical politics into play. Can we try to keep that stuff to Siberia? Geesh...

On a side note, I'm not tired of winning yet :)

Your Mom's family is from Cadiz, Ky.? Interesting. We used to travel through there all the time when I taught at Murray State. My boss at MSU was a native of Hoptown.

OCF - Spent the last week of August leading up to Labor Day at KenLake State Park for the first 15 or so years of my life. The real reason was we had to attend the Trigg County High School reunion in Cadiz the Saturday before Labor Day. My mom (class of 52) always won the contest for having travelled the first to the reunion. It was a big deal - the reunion dinner.

Interesting. Western Kentucky, particularly the Purchase, which Cadiz very near, is a world unto itself, if you know what I mean. Didn't realize you had roots in that area. Explains a lot! ;-)

Naming all these towns near Paducah is awesome. What did you teach at Murray State?

Are you from Paducah? I taught journalism at MSU and was the graduate coordinator of the master's degree program. Interestingly, I'm working on a presentation that I'm to give next week at our local Civil War Round Table on Unionists in the slaves states, and I'm using the Purchase area (referred to at that time as the "South Carolina of Kentucky") to paint a contrast with the rest of the Bluegrass State, which was decidedly pro Union during the war.

Sadly, it's Ohio by a mile on both and I'm a Browns fan.
