Sweeping aside any shred of appreciation for hard fought game in which Ohio represented well. Heard the parents were preparing a Jersey for him. They are having a hard time coming up with what to have lettered on the back. Any suggestions? "Nothing Personal" is getting some support though "eeyore" is getting some too.

"O'Shea" would seem appropriate.

(Since you don't say who "he" is, I assume you mean our former basketball coach, who is in Athens today with his current team)

"Super Beef Hoagie"?

I heard SBH might be in Athens today for the titanic struggle in the Convo.

When I looked up to find out about eeyore, not having been a Winnie-the-Poo fan in my youth, though I had friends who were, I uncovered this word as one of the descriptors of the personality of eeyore, I do believe it is apt in this current context: anhedonic.

The definition of anhedonic, from MedicineNet.com:

"Loss of the capacity to experience pleasure. The inability to gain pleasure from normally pleasurable experiences. Anhedonia is a core clinical feature of depression, schizophrenia, and some other mental illnesses.

"An anhedonic mother finds no joy from playing with her baby. AN ANHEDONIC FOOTBALL FAN IS NOT EXCITED WHEN HIS TEAM WINS. An anhedonic teenager feels no pleasure from passing the driving test." [Emphasis mine]

How does such a person feel when his team loses or fails to MACC for 12 years of tenure? Does he or she rejoice 100% when his team plays a fine game yet loses in said MACC?

Does such a person, despite what the willfully blind think that they see, ever compliment anything about the program?

Does such a person robotlike accept all results or does such a person evaluate?

Is such a person having as a prime goal a MACC reasonable?

+1 .. no, + 10.

I suspect Monroe is the ONLY poster on BA who thinks a MACC is the sole definition of success. And if we do win it, what's the upside? We play in the Potato Bowl rather than the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl? Does the average Ohio alum care about that? I doubt it.

To me this year was a successful year. The Texas State loss was bad. Otherwise, we lost games by 7, 7, 9 and 6. So at least Monroe can't say we had any "CRASHING LOSSES".

His starting position was waiting for him, wow. Dorian Brown had a great year, despite playing behind an average to below average line.

That's a long-standing policy; a starter can't lose his starting position because of injury. That doesn't mean he can hold onto it, or that he will get all the carries, just that he'll most likely get the first snap of the season. Note that it also says in the article:

The Bobcats will likely use a backfield by committee next year, with no one player getting a commanding share of the carries. But it will likely be Ouellette that takes the first carry of the season.

So, he'll get the first carry, then the rest will be split between AJ, Dorian, and Maleek. Whoever is the most effective will get more carries as the season goes on. You have a problem with this approach? I can't think of anything more fair.

Speaking of Eeyore....one of the great realities that exists in the world of voice acting...The anhedonic Disney donkey is voiced by the great Peter Cullen.....who also voices.....Optimus Prime of the Transformers, one of the greatest protagonists of after-school/Saturday morning animated 24 minute toy commercials of all time! It's about as opposite the ends of the spectrum you can get. Shows his great range. I also recently learned that Megatron, the antagonist or just "bad guy" on Transformers was voiced by the same voice actor who did Freddy on Scooby Doo-Frank Welker.

It doesn't relate in any way, or even seem to be relevant to the thread in any way.

Getting the thread back where it started, when I was talking to some parents earlier this year, "eeyore" was definitely mentioned in connection to Bobcatattack.com.

Extreme conservative and tending toward making judgments based on less than the facts or things that don't matter. (see the General Discussion thread)

MAC championship is more of a concern than AJ's hairstyle for me.

+1 It makes sense, AJ is such a hardworker. Let's just hope one of the backs gets hot and we feed him.

So, you're saying that it was what it appeared to be, a gratuitous attack, based solely on the fact that you don't believe he has a right to have and express opinions different than yours? Can you keep the politics in Siberia, please?

You're awfully confident that Irons will be ready to go. He currently faces charges of DUI, failure to control, hit skip, obstructing official business and resisting arrest. On top of that, if convicted he violated probation from his 2015 case in which he tried to sell an OU coed's stolen ID card.

In this case from January '17, he's alleged to have led officers on a foot chase for multiple minutes and resisted handcuffing.

What would one have to do to get kicked out of school around here? Or suspended for multiple games?

Then again, there's a pattern of excessive leniency from the Athletics Department, the football program and the local courts.

My apologies. I don't expect Maleek to play for awhile. I know he's practicing, but I do expect that he will face first sanctions from the University, and then sanctions from the athletic department. My guess is that he'll be suspended for at least 3 games, perhaps double that. If he gets kicked out of the University, which is possible, obviously he won't play at all.

Here's an idea, let's see if the OUPD officer that ran Malik down has any eligibility. He proved that he can run and tackle---two way player!!!
