I have followed Bobcatattack for a long time. I do not post too much and when I do it is usually about recruiting since I enjoy high school sports.

I have tried to ignore Monroe. I don't read his Trump threads and I try not to read his football threads. However, since he keeps changing the subject to Solich or Trump, it is hard to avoid him. I used to enjoy coming home and reading about my Bobcats and feel proud that we have such a loyal and intellectual group of posters.

I will say up front that I voted for Trump and am rather conservative, but the bs that comes from Monroe is sickening. I can live with that since it is politics and there is always a difference of opinion.

However, the Solich bs is a slap in face to Ohio, Bobcatattack followers, and any loyal fans.

Please do something or you will be losing me and I feel have lost many already. I don't see how a fine poster like LC stays around. He is a Nebraska resident who tries to add positive discussion to our board. He has no other connections other than Solich was at Nebraska. We need an ignore button or if I would be in charge, Monroe would be gone.

I do appreciate all that you do and want to personally thank you for the time you spend on this wonderful project.

Would the moderators ban me for copyright infringement if I tried selling "Make BobcatAttack Great Again" hats?

I agree, he is like a dark cloud hanging over this fan site. Ruining everyone's attempt to enjoy discussing bobcat football. It's a shame really.

The French pronunciation of Russia. Supposedly the initial settlers were Napoleonic soldiers who fought in Russia and then immigrated to the US. It was winter when they arrived and thought in looked like Russia in the winter. The two neighboring towns are Versailles and Frenchtown.

My wife's paternal family is from the next county over -- Darke. I believe that Versailles, Ohio, is actually in Darke County. I remember one time while we were visiting over their we went to a very good and interesting restaurant in Versailles.

akroncat can correct me if I'm wrong about this, but I think the Darke County community uses neither the Indiana nor the French pronunciation. It seems to me that they have a yet a third variant.

You're lucky you went a couple weeks ago. This weekend, the Wabash decided to take up residency inside the infield.

And, yes, it is Ver-sales, Roo-shee and How-stun. I live around here and am confused by the pronunciations myself. I always wondered if Russia wasn't pronounced that way because of the Red Scare?

Is that not just the southern Ohio twang coming through? Like Ahia vs. Ohio?

I was once told by a credible source (the guy behind the counter at Jolly Pirate Donuts in Lancaster) that it was pronounced like LANKester.

Wouldn't that be the correct British pronunciation (asks the guy who lives in LAN-caster County)?

As far as bizarre pronunciations, my "favorite" has long been Des Plaines, Illinois (not that Des Moines is really any better).

The former is close to the Ohio pronunciation; the latter is close to the Pennsylvania way of saying the word. I think the Ohio way is more like LANG-aster. I assume the Pa way is more like the British. I was surprised to find out a few years ago the the local way of pronouncing Portsmouth, Ohio, something like "Porch-muth," is actually the way people in Portsmouth, England, pronounce it, but not like people in the rest of the UK pronounce it. So, I would assume this means some of the first immigrants to Portsmouth, Ohio, were from Portsmouth, England. I'm sure BTC will correct me if I'm wrong here, since he's THE expert on all things Scioto County.
