Talked about Blair on the NFL Network. Showed highlights of him against Kansas. Says he can play inside and out. Prototypical modern NFL linebacker.

Hoping he would land with panthers. Congrats.

I believe both our draft picks will walk for their diploma shortly.... correct?

Mel Kiper lists Brown as the first of the "next up" after his three "early-impact" defensive players from rounds 4-7, saying "Linebacker Blair Brown, a fifth-round pick, has the talent to make the Jaguars' roster and contribute."

Todd McShay listed Jacksonville as the most improved team after the draft today. And again mentioned Blair Brown positively.

Numbers I appreciate are Western 3, Toledo 3, Ohio 2, Eastern 1, NIU 1, Buffalo 1. Probably more will pan out. All this means the MAC is trending up. Should help recruiting though Western and Toledo will not be taking their foot off the gas any time soon.

That is a ridiculous conclusion. On what basis do you think that having 11 guys drafted by the NFL will improve MAC recruiting....in an era in which budget and media cuts seem to be favoring the power conferences over less conferences such as the MAC.

If that's so, then in the years after MAC schools having a good number of players drafted by the NFL, even more MAC players should be drafted.

Here is what the picks get paid. Brown's contract is not guaranteed, but he should get a $294,000 signing bonus.
