Fall Camp starts and ends well before the first day of Fall. Perhaps it should be called "Summer Camp"?

Well, if Northwestern is in the Northwest, obviously Ohio is midwest.

I live in Indiana, which is referred to as "The Heartland". Which I believe along with Illinois, would make Ohio a lung.

Ohio used to be "The Heart of it All."

Oh, and "The South" refers to the old Confederacy and not New Mexico, Arizona, Southern California, etc.

Around here, anything west of Pa. and east of Colorado is the "midwest".

While that's true, if you look at a map, it would be hard to argue that Ohio and Indiana aren't East of the center of the US. Maybe that area should be called the Middle East. Oh, wait, that name's already used for somewhere else.

That's right. You ask the average Ohioan and he or she will say that the Buckeye State is in the Midwest. In light of L.C.'s statement, back when the NCAA actually tried to put schools in a basketball tournament bracket in their own region, our region was referred to as the Mideast Region.

70 days until kickoff. I've been watching old games on YouTube but watching the same 4 over and over becomes exhausting

My approach the last few years has been to wait until about two weeks before the season starts and then watch the last quarter and OT of the Pitt game. Never fails to give me a good case of Bobcat Football Fever (BFF). I highly recommend this strategy to others. Warming: BFF can be highly contagious and can result in ten or more weeks of alternating bouts of ecstasy and agony. Your case of BFF might separate you from your BFF, especially if he or she is a Bucknut of a Redchicken.

3 week from tomorrow! I get a rush of adrenaline and a whif of shoulder pad scent just thinking about it.

@OhioFootball Announces Fall Camp Schedule

July 30, 2017

ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio football team reported for fall camp Sunday to begin the 123rd season of intercollegiate football for the Bobcats and the 13th under head coach Frank Solich.

Ohio returns 17 starters (eight offense, six defense, three specialists) from last year’s squad which captured the Mid-American Conference East Division Title and advanced to the 2016 Marathon MAC Championship game at Ford Field. Ohio also battled Troy in the 2016 Dollar General Bowl. The Bobcats were once again picked to finish atop the MAC East in the preseason media poll.

Ohio has 23 scheduled practices and three scrimmages as a part of fall camp which begins Aug. 1 at 9:05 a.m. at Peden Stadium. All practices are open to the media and times are subject to change. Photography and video recording is only allowed for the first 10 minutes of each practice.

Ohio opens its 2017 season at home hosting Hampton, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. in Peden Stadium.

Just looked at the practice schedule.

Does anyone know when "two a days" went away ?

This year, that's why they are starting a week earlier. And they can still have a two-a-day, just not with helmets or contact.

I believe the vote was in April. No more two a days, which extends fall camp and gives the players a shorter break. I've heard a mixed reaction to it from the players.

That's correct, pretty much just a "walk through".

Slightly O.T. ,but I was listening to show on the radio yesterday about Giants' training camp.
They were saying that the Giants' coaching staff is taking a "pitch count" approach to how they work with veterans, especially older vets like Eli.

They said an older Q.B. has only "so many bullets" for a season,so they don't want to waste any.

Same with legs.
So they are limiting reps, including preseason games for a number of older players.

They also interviewed several players about the rules for "contact".
To a man they said the current rules on contact pretty much make preseason practices a joke.
