What's up with the time clock and game clock Have had to reset it 10 times already. Do we use volunteers to run that thing? I know it is new, but it seems the errors are because someone doesn't know when to start or stop it.

Let's hope it was because of unfamiliarity with the working of the scoreboard because it was awful. The clock didn't run on a couple of plays in the 1st half. The play clock never started on a few plays. And the down and yardage was a mystery all game. This needs to be fixed before the Kansas game.

Considering the board was not operational until Friday, I'm sure that any issues were lack of training and familiarity with the technology.

I'd give some leeway on that until the operator forgot to put 15:00 up to start the 4th quarter.

At some point, one has to concede that somebody was not good at their assigned task.

Also failed to put up point #36 for several minutes.

For four years back in the 60's I ran the clock for my high school basketball games. It is a nerve wracking experience, especially for a freshman in high school and we had a very simple set up. I would assume the new system has a lot more bells and whistles to it and whoever is running it probably has a fairly big instruction manual. With so little time to prepare, I would hope that inexperience played a huge part. However, it is a faceless job for the most part. When things go right, no one is starting a thread on here on what a good job was done, but when things go wrong....lol. By the way, I did not catch Lou's comment, "tackled by a boatload of pirates" but I think should win the 'cool saying of the week' award.

That was a program issue, NOT a human error.

Us up in the tower club were laughing when the referee wound the clock after an incomplete pass.

He was probably trying to make up for the times the clock didn't start.

O.K., I'll give some slack to the new system and need for training, but this reminds me of the old joke.

We have 12 days.

12 days? New system not identical to the borrowed system...so hit the reset button.

That was brutal for sure. I was just waiting for the red to snap but he remained calm and professional all 20 times he had to chat with the operator.

You may be the only one on this board that'll get this, Old Zone, but in an OHIO context, the Answer could be: multiply, subtract, divide and factor! :-)
