Two weeks in and the rest of the MAC East looks pretty pathetic. I called for Ohio to make a return to the MACC last December, and two weeks into September, I feel even better about that prediction. No way Ohio doesn't get back to Detroit.

BG had a bad first week against Michigan St. You can say we'll that is Michigan State right? This week WMU plays them tough and BG drops to South Dakota. BG has nothing. Miami is alright but they don't have a championship level offense. Its looking very doable for Ohio.

Care to place a wager on this?

Assuming we lost to EMU and Toledo (both look good), that means we gotta win all our MAC East games including against a Miami team who is looking solid early with a QB that will go make plays.

Miami is in Athens. Home teams are spotted a FG.

I do you one better, I've already book a flight and hotel, just as I did early last season when I was saying the same thing.

Do you still think/hope Miami is as awesome as you've been saying they will be?

I ain't hoping for them to be good at all. For us, it's going to come down to how big of a green light Rourke gets. If we do what we do best and keep our offense in the barn, there's no use to considering Detroit.

Credit goes to the late, great Frank Deford. Title of his memoir, I believe.

My fear is this season ends up looking like 2014. Squeak out a 6-6 record, probably land the last bowl slot available (there were less bowls back then). We'll see, but not optimistic after the Purdue thrashing. I see all of these games as dangerous...

Kansas (50/50 game)
@EMU (30% chance of winning)
CMU (never beat them...50/50 game)
Miami (50/50 game)
Toledo (40% chance)
@Akron (50/50 game)
@Buffalo (40% chance...they are better than record indicates)

The only games I am fairly confident in are UMass, BG and Kent. But that's only because they are probably 3 of the 5 worst teams in FBS.

I think we'll show very differently this weekend. In many ways, Purdue was game one for the season (because our first game was such a lopsided affair). I expect to see a big jump in performance against Kansas. Now having said that, I do think Kansas will come into Athens spoiling for a fight, but I expect to see improvement in our offensive line and our defensive backfield.

Top five things I need to see for us to be even considered a contender for the MAC East:
1. Javon Hagan needs to find his Freshman of the Year mojo
2. Our D-line needs to get pressure on the QB and clog the gaps
3. Our 2 running backs need to step up and realize that carries will be determined by who is doing the best. In two games so far I think Julian Ross is our best back and that's pitiful for AJ and Dorian.
4. Rourke needs to get all of the snaps against Kansas. If he fails then we know he's not The One.
5. More trickeration. Farkas was awesome on his fake the other day. Why not more on offense. We have the most explosive player in Papi in the conference (BY FAR). USE HIM FRANK and ALBIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's a severe lack of creativity in this offense. There are some guys who can be used in many different ways and it's neglected. The flashy plays and the flair gashed OU for 450+ on Friday. Wouldn't be surprised to see Kansas throw the kitchen sink on Saturday to do everything they can to win this game
