I'm attending 10 of the 12 Bobcat Football games (which will hopefully become 12 of the 14 games) this year but UMass is a bit far for me. I see a little known network, Eleven Sports, is covering the Minutemen Football games. Anyone know if it will be picked up by one of other larger sports carriers like ESPN, CBSSN, Fox Sports, etc? Eleven sports is available on my local cable provider but I'll have pay extra for it. Before I give even more money to ever-more-greedy cable company, I figured I'd check with those who might know.

If your cable provider/package has NESN/NESN+, you will find it there. It is usually on the NESN+ option. I don't believe there is a streaming option on the UMASS website, unfortunately.

What is NESN? Northeast Sports Network? Never heard of it. Doubt it's available on any cable services in the State of Ohio.

Maybe this should be an old guy roll call. As hard as it is to believe, there are several on here that are older than I. One is fansince49.

New England Sports Network, it’s owned by the owners of the Red Sox.

There is free streaming if you are outside New England. Check the UMass site a few days before the game. For some strange reason starts initial as free audio, but by game day is free streaming outside of NE.

Also on ElevenSports and so far just heard ODU fans who had Fios had that option.

Thanks for the info! That is helpful. Charter-Spectrum-brighthouse-time-warner, my cable provider offers Eleven Sports (still identified as OWS on my cable guide) but I'll have to pay extra and was hoping to avoid that. If I have to, subscribing to that channel for a month will be cheaper than a flight/hotel/rental car to Hartford but it's great to know I might be able to avoid that.

If you have Time Warner, or U-Verse, I believe this channel is available as an extra option. I know it's an option on my U-verse anyway. I won't be adding the channel, but I will be tuned to Russ & Rob.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping a network associated with the MAC would pick it up in areas outside the NESN+ network. I did open up the "guide" on my TV last night and scrolled forward to next Saturday to see what was on Eleven Sports and it didn't show the Ohio/UMass game being listed. I'm confident I was looking at the correct channel since last night the guide showed the programming was a replay of the Princeton game and the Ivy league is one of the conferences Eleven Sports broadcasts.

However,on the ESPN schedule showing all the FBS (I-A) games for week 5, nothing is showing in the "National TV" column next to Ohio/UMass game. There are also some higher profile games that one would expect to be broadcast somewhere, but nothing showing in that column for them either, so perhaps the "national TV" column isn't complete. Or, I'm missing something on that page.

I have DirecTV and it's on both NESN and Eleven Sports

My bad. I was looking at the wrong week.
