I’m not really understanding all the new QB commits. Transfers and high schoolers

Aside from Poulos and Navarro, I don't think any of them are in the same class, assuming Carpenter earned a redshirt and the plan is for Hype Grand to redshirt. I doubt Papas sees any meaningful time here. Assuming this is Poulos' last year, 2026 you're probably looking at redshirt freshman Grand as your third stringer while Winters and Carpenter battle for the starter job. Levi Lewis redshirts. That sounds about right.

What I'm not good with is our current depth at DT and LB.

Carpenter was one of the 2 QB’s at Indiana who went into the portal before Kurtis committed. Small world.

I take it you mean Levi Davis?

He still has one more year of high school football and I was going to say that they don't redshirt high school athletes. But I never know anymore with the way the landscape of amateur sports is changing in the United States in recent years.

You think we’re in a position to turn down talent at the most important position?

Who is QB1 next year? A freshman?

I think Tim is likely the leader in the clubhouse at the moment, that’s why he’s here. Hype QB2.

Maybe Polous asserts himself as QB1 as a 6th year. Maybe he doesn’t. He is still very inexperienced.

More chances to get it right.

I’m just saying that’s a lot of QB’s. We’re obviously not going to turn down guys if we think they’re better than who we have. Will they all stay, no way. It will sort itself out.

Carpenter is absolutely the leader. Polous can’t run the Ohio offense well. Hasn’t played meaningful games since high school.

In fairness, nobody ran the offense well that first stretch LOL

But he has only started a handful of games going back into JUCO, so other than he's HUGE and has been in the system for two years... I think Tim's untapped ability will set him apart. And Hype Grand's tape is slick. If he was 6'2" he'd be playing at USC. Either way, I think we're set up for real success post-Parker. (If everyone stays, though these days that seems unlikely)

JUCO doesn't count against eligibility anymore, right? I think he might have two years.

Yeah, it’s hard to get too excited. The days of guys waiting their turn two or three years seems over. And that goes both ways. Coaches will take a proven QB moving up, so players look nonstop for PT…rspecially QBs. It’s like pitchers in baseball.
