Will be strange not playing Kent or Akron during the season. Always traveled to one of the places each year to meet up with family.

In-laws live in Wadsworth. These are two great away games for us, particularly in October.

That is true, it was just convenient for me and my family. I need to figure out where I want to travel to this season and future years if they are not on our schedule regularly.

We want tough now. Six straight bowl wins.

No Akron, Kent or Toledo. Strange schedule. Homecoming looks like NIU on the 18th is what I'm guessing.

We've known about it for a while, but talk about running the early season gauntlet.

@ Rutgers - Hello Bradley Weaver. Much tougher team than in recent years. Anything could happen in Game 1, but They have a senior QB who had a decent season last year. They also have a 6'6" soph WR who will give us a lot of problems. They also have an FAU transfer who had 850 yards rushing and 450 receiving.

WVU - Most excited I've been for a game in a while. Would be an insane W.

@ OSU - Playing the #1 team at home in Week 3. I'll still go, but good googly moogly.

Would be a pipe dream to pull out one of these, but will be tough for a new coach to start out 0-3 regardless of schedule.

And Rutgers moved to Thursday the 28. I hate these schedule changes in FB and BB which make it hard to plan ahead and work into other schedules-ugh

Ohio has zero business playing three power four schools to open the season! Ask the coaching staff how they feel about that type of schedule? The Bobcat mens basketball schedule does not play 75% of the pre season non league schedule vs power four teams. They don’t play one power four team. Totally ridiculous!!

It’s March, you have 5+ months to plan.

Give me 1 for 1's like Syracuse and Iowa State or a money game at a 80,000+ seat stadium. Nice we are moving Rutgers to prime time but in general playing a second tier P4 for the money is a waste of time. Ohio State regardless of the score adds to the playoff resume. MWC last year was no stronger than the MAC but Boise State had Oregon on the schedule as a quality loss was key for them to land in the playoff.

LMAO.
I don't mind being able to tune into the tube on a Thursday night for this at all. Very curious that the NCAA has soooooooooo many Thursday night games going on that day.

It's about the same distance as their closest MWC opponent (Wyoming) -- 974 to Amherst vs 946 to Laramie. It'll get them used to long-distance plane travel. No more bus trips for the Huskies.

What do you see as an ideal overall schedule? Mine I'll list below.

Home: FCS tune up
Away: Money game against big P4 (80,000+ stadium)
Home: AAC/P4 1&1 (or WKU, MTSU, Marshall, NIU)
Away: AAC/P4 1&1 (or WKU, MTSU, Marshall, NIU)
Four home game MAC Schedule w/ Miami in October
Bowls against MWC, CUSA, SBC (like what is in place now)

I'm not sure why we don't try to line up AAC schools on the schedule. Also not sure why we play South Alabama when the frequently show up as a bowl opponent. Regional G5's (WKU, MTSU, Marshall, NIU) are an acceptable 1 & 1 series. Smaller P4 only play 1 for 1 as done with Syracuse & Iowa State.

As to the bowls I'm fine with a good location and a winnable opponent to pick up the W. Pad the record a little bit with an overmatched opponent.

OCF- I think that preseason schedule is insane. You are a season ticket and know how Marshall travels. Well the Mountaineer fans will bring more than Marshall. I do not like the idea of opening with three consecutive power four schools with tons of resources and more NIL cash than the Bobcats can dream of. Totally ridiculous! The university administration isn’t asking the mens basketball team to play 50 or 75% of non league games vs power four schools. I’m not even going to start about the one million three year deal to play WVU.

UMass started home and away series with both NIU and Buffalo. The MAC honored the return game to UMass. Will look forward to watching the Ohio and UMass game on Nov 18.

But was expecting 2 MACtion games and we got 4 games. Thought generally only the top teams would get 3 or 4 MACtion games.

For whatever reason this year the schedule has 3 P4's but its never happened before or scheduled for out years. I don't love the Rutgers game but they are moving it up for a broadcast window. Last time that happened for us against Louisville Lamar Jackson ran all over but Ohio should do better this time.

I just thought it was funny since adding UMass to the conference as a full member was essentially the spark that led to NIU leaving. Good on the MAC for making them play it out.

Correct, but we don’t always have this much time -right? And, you don’t know how much I’ve already done with the previous scheduled date or how much it’s going to cost me to change it. You’re just trying to be a j… as usual.

You buying college sports tickets and plane fair in the world of world of flexing schedules and did not purchase flight and room insurance, that is a you problem. Not a me problem. I clicked a button on my Delta Skymiles and poof, refund, and new flight booked. They sell those products for a reason. Shit happens.

In 2028, we are playing at Illinois. FYI, it's TBD Date, TBD time. So I would start scheduling now. Probably get a great rate on your flight.
