It’s Mildly amusing that a coach come in and does what no Coach in OHIO history has done 3 straight 10 win seasons. Does what no Coach in 50 years has done, win a MAC title. And several fans couldn’t get over how he did interviews or his awe shucks personality, others celebrated him moving on.

Albin basically had a lifetime contract here and would have gotten another raise. Every coach is evaluated after the season. He chose to leave before it was even done. If he was trying to play chess against the administration, he's not very good at it and neither is his agent.

Ohio should consider looking at jumping to the AAC if opportunity comes. AAC has better TV deal and basketball is stronger. Ohio offers balance in football and basketball like Toledo. Albin jumped to a better league and maybe Ohio joins him in the AAC down the road. MAC has falling way behind especially in basketball. With three ten win seasons in a row and a football title in hand Ohio has established itself as a top group of 5 available for future expansion targets. Football moves the needle and Ohio has never been at this level in modern college football. AAC has the TV contracts the MAC doesn't have. Saturday afternoon games on ABC and ESPN. Football title game on ABC. AAC has national programs Army, Navy as its membership. AAC may lose Memphis and Tulane, but still would command a larger TV deal that the MAC.

I don’t have one problem with Coach Smith who was hired by Coach Albin. Coach Albin knew Coach Smith is a fine coach. Just like Frank knew, that Albin was a fine coach. What I have a problem with is the way the administration treated Albin. Ask people who knew what was going on in the program. Many of you want to congratulate the administration for every move they make, but fail to recognize the huge mistakes they make. This administration including the president made a huge mistake, but you won’t hear it from them. If Rod McDavis or Duane Nellis were in charge this huge blunder would never have occurred. It does not take a genius to figure out that Albin was worth more than the 6/7 best paid coach in the league. The administration is rewarding Boals as the top paying coach in the league. Totally ridiculous compared to the results. Yet many of you support that high salary. I guess you enjoy being fifth seed yearly for that high salary. No coach and I repeat no coach had a better record in conference than Albin the last four seasons, yet she treated him like the sixth or 7th best coach in the league. The AD followed him around at post game press conferences like her long last kitten. She failed miserably when it came time to giving him a contract and treated him like a middle of the road coach, which is evident he was not. This administration secretly renews the contract of the womens hoops coach who has been flat out terrible the past four seasons. Go ahead and congratulate her for that move. Season tickets holders for womens basketball have said they refuse to attend games because they can’t stand watching that product. Great move AD! The baseball coach was hired by this AD.
