Here's the difference for me.

Miami loss to BG is horrific.

But Miami has been a dumpster fire of a program for a while now.

So are you really stunned by that loss? Feels like a "Fiami being Fiami loss"

Shouldn't Ohio outgrow these type of losses? 13 years and they still find ways to lose games like this every year.

I'd like to say they're a better program than that ... but they continue to play down to that level every year

Down 1 Miami with under 2 minutes to go had the ball on the BG 2 yard line. That is a 95% chance of winning. They dominated BG's secondary that entire drive and they were about to seal the victory. BG recovers the fumble and takes it 98 yards back for a TD. That's a heartbreaking loss. Getting screwed by the refs and playing sloppy like Ohio did isn't a heartbreaking loss. It didn't impact the MAC race severely for us. It's Miami who is staring at best 8-4 (more likely 7-5 or 6-6 best) after high hopes of a strong start.

Agree. Not heartbreaking...just incredibly disappointing for Ohio to lose another one of these games theyre supposed to win.

As far as Miami, this could be crippling loss for their program. Interested to see how they respond. But again, it's Miami ... so who cares, right?

Since we are discussing other teams melt down, we better beat them or this diversion will blow up.

Final PI on Ohio was clearly blatant PI..look at the replay for goodness sake.

First PI on CMU was the tough call, took a heck of a play away from #3 Bunting for CMU.

The visiting team has won seven of the first 11 MAC games this season. Losing at home is getting to be the norm.

I'd like to see illegal formation added to the list of reviewable calls. They can review whether 12 men were on the field, so why not this too. The penalty that negated our TD just before halftime seemed to be a bad call. That was a real game changer because it led to the blocked FG try and CMU's TD.

Here's the illegal formation penalty. I thought it was a bad call too, but the replay shows otherwise. The LOS is the 28. Rourke and a running back are in the backfield, of course, but I see only one receiver lined up on the 28.

Frank called it inexcusable.

Agree. Especially coming out of a timeout.

Why, OHIO clearly lined up incorrectly. Not that hard to lineup when it's a 5th year senior at that.

Miami's was the worst IMHO. To have the excitement of being so close then your heart ripped out in such a quick series of events is more of a shock to the system. I slept just fine about it on Saturday though and actually took the sting over what happened in Peden away just a tad for me.

OUr loss to Central sucked but the reality of it possibly happening was present from the time they took the 3rd quarter lead, giving plenty of time to sink in. Still trying to come to grips that an illegal formation could arguably been a major turning point in the game and made the difference from possibly a comfortable win to a bitter defeat.

That Buffalo and Western game was as crazy as it gets. I saw someone Tweet to Arkley asking if the two schools will match that point total when they play in hoops this season. Numerous NCAA records set (for offensive prowess or defensive futility-you decide). Felt bad that someone had to lose, but, since it was Buffalo-not that bad. The WMU Oarsmen are probably really sore in the shoulders today! Do they still row the boat up there or did that move away to the Twin Cities, too?

Definitely frustrating to have lost that game as it would have built a nice lead in the conference standings. I think we now need to do no worse than a split with Toledo and Miami and win out otherwise to make it back to Detroit. Or if the rest of the MAC East continues to nose dive, at least suck the least LOL. At this moment in time, the Akron Zips are your MAC East leaders =I
