I just can't muster up the energy to care about his lack of MAC tweets anymore

It's his personal account. It's not like the league account has a bunch of Indians tweets on it.

It's not his personal account. It's the MAC Assistant Commissioner/Communications and Social Media.

There is no disclaimer that says his tweets are his own and don't reflect views of MAC.

He promotes it as his work account.

This is what a communications director's Twitter accounts should be like.

SEC

Sun Belt
Check out John McElwain (@sunbeltjohn): https://twitter.com/sunbeltjohn?s=09

CUSA
Check out Tim McNamara (@Tim_McNamara): https://twitter.com/Tim_McNamara?s=09

ACC
Check out George Lane (@GMLane): https://twitter.com/GMLane?s=09

JGuy shoves Cleveland sports down your throat on an account he also uses to (kinda) promote the MAC.

Get a personal account for that stuff, fanboy.

It's the little things that continue to make the MAC look small-time. The on-the-field product does that enough...dont need help from league reps

Lane barely tweets. His last words on twitter were to an ice cream company on Sept. 25.
McNamara hasn't done anything on twitter since Aug. 30.
McElwain has the best single tweet of the bunch on Aug. 12.
And apparently even on twitter #ItJustMeansMore.

As long as @macsports is strictly MAC Sports what difference does it make? It's not like he's withholding certain MAC-related tweets from the main MAC page and forcing people to get the info through his personal page.

Honest question...

If you were a conference or school looking to hire a communications person...and you looked at his account, would you be a bit concerned about his priorities?

It might not be an official MAC Sports account ... but is he not representing the MAC? Especially with the way he uses his account...he does use it as a work account and he markets it as a work account in his bio ...but yet a majority of his tweets revolve around CLE sports

As long as he isn't posting pictures of his house party on Friday night, dropping n-bombs and f-bombs all over his feed it wouldn't be a concern.

Fair enough, I guess

Agree to disagree. To me it shows a guy who is more concerned about CLE sports than MAC Sports on social media ... and that's concerning considering he's in charge of the league's social media

It shows me he took a couple hours out of his day to watch the baseball playoffs. Big bleeping deal. The league's feed covers all the bases and has all the same stuff as the other conferences.

If the league's site sucked then you'd have something.

But I'd rather follow Guy (which I don't) than the SEC guy you linked earlier who is just blowing how great the SEC is up your tailpipe even more than we get from media outlets 365/24/7. The ACC and one other one don't even use it enough to warrant a follow.

This isn't an isolated incident.

It's every Cavs game ... Browns game ,,, Tribe game. He tweets more about CLE than MAC on this account.

I've met Jeremy. He's good guy (no pun intended)

But I just think, in his position, he should have a totally different Twitter account for his CLE-love fest. Or at least differentiate it and make it clear this account isn't MAC.

He used to. So I'm guessing he somewhat understands the importance of keeping such things separate. Perhaps just doesn't care anymore.

But then again I guess it's just Cleveland sports. Which is not MAC in any way, annoying to me, but a fairly harmless nuisance. Because I do appreciate his MAC stuff. I just couldn't care less about Cleveland blowing the 2-0 lead yadda yadda... Or which non-deserving QB the Browns will start this week.

Thank you Twitter 'mute' words... No more Windians, Copperheads, RallyTogether, etc.

If he was more politically active, or had extreme opinions on certain social issues then maybe he'd understand more the necessity to keep the two separated.

Wait. Twitter has mute words?
