Not very good tonight. In fact it’s almost nonexistent. If Ragland were healthy and playing, Miami would be winning. We score on Miami turnovers, Miami scores on long drives.

incapable of defending a big physical receiver. Gardner is embarrassing us.

Hoping the offense can bail them out yet again tonight.

Starting to get to Bahl, which is our chance to keep Gardner from beating us.

They finally made a big stop when called on. The offense can either bleed this clock to death and go for the 3 on a conservative drive or continue being aggressive as they’ve had their way w/Fiami all night. Losing a few starters has also hampered them. Pretty good showing for the Cats tonight

EDIT: WTF was that drive?? Why not run the ball and setup a deep pass when they think you’re gonna bleed the clock. 3 passes in a row????

Could have burned nearly 3 minutes of that clock with 3 runs and a punt. Instead we burn 40 seconds and give Fiami the ball at the 20.

If we lose, that series is why.

I believe that this is a first for this board. Complaining that Frank is too aggressive and isn't playing conservative enough. I'm stunned!

Agree with this. Frustrating we were so undone by one receiver. Bahl had a good game connecting with Gardner.

Great to get the win, but it feels like we owe Miami for some (much) of that. They shot themselves in the foot with the 45 yards of penalty. Add to that the loss of, what, two of their defensive starters? After the 45 penalty yards, we get a short field and go up 35-28 and never look back. If you're Miami, that was a back breaker.

For us, Rourke was outstanding! Had some great accuracy tied with good catches by Meyer and Marhefka. Papi White had a good game as well. He did have one key drop that could have helped ice the game earlier (as I recall. Can't remember the exact situation).

To me, it's Miami, it's a rival, it's Halloween, you expect the unexpected. A good team finds a way to win these. The Bobcats did.

I think it boils down to matchups and defensively they have always had issues with big receivers and often times with one cut small quick backs who are one cut guys. Seems like a recurring theme. Take the win and move on. They have beaten their rival 11 of 12 times. Total domination. Miami is talented. Fortunately they are coached by Chuck Martin.

Yes, our D needs some work.
Yes, our O looks good.
Net impact W's.

Frank knows what he is doing. He is looking to see what our QB can accomplish in different situations vs how we would handle leads in the past. Rourke had a great game and may I remind all that since his 4 turnover game he hasn't had 1 since.
You can even see on TV how he has employed improved ball security techniques when on the run. If he can be this efficient over the next few games, the season should rap up very nicely.

GO BOBCATS

A fly in the ointment though is that if Bahl can tear up Ohio's defense like that, and the kid's inconsistent as can be, what's Logan Woodside going to do next week?

Only gave up seven points in the second half. The defense adjusted and got it done in the end.

Logan Woodside might be on an NFL roster at some point. Toledo has been thrashing teams the last 3 games. They have a tough one tomorrow night against NIU. OU has 7 days off compared to their 6, and I like the believe that extra day could be meaningful. Miami was a rivalry game, but Toledo might be the most important game of the season. I think we find out whether or not this team can win in Detroit next Wednesday.

P.S. I forgot about Akron in a couple weeks. Can this team handle the late season pressure?

It was definitely frustrating to see them struggle for the first 3 quarters or so.

That big 3rd and long conversion early in the game I think really changed the entire composure of the game. Had that play ended in 4th down and a punt the game could have really been blown open. Credit Miami for digging out of the hole several times. I think they came ready to play and gave their best shot. I think most on here expected a close game and that's what it was until the Cats went up 14 and then 17. After the first 4th down stop I felt pretty good that the win was in hand. Bahl, after dropping dimes most of the game, picked a good time to have Storm Trooper accuracy in the 4th.

We had no answer for Gardner for 3 quarters. After his last TD catch he didn't really do much damage IMHO. Still cannot give up almost 200 yards passing total, let alone to one guy.

I thought I saw a stat on the screen that said Miami has only scored 16 4th quarter points all season?!

For all of the criticism for Frank on here, fair or not, there's no debating that he has a mastery on Miami.
